Re: Board update to latest version. Post problems.

I've only seen it slow a few times. Nothing like Dirk has experienced.

Re: not going well (okay now though)

If you did a WIn7 install on your Xeons there are some updates you DON'T want installed ... if they were you can remove them. These are the Spectre patches and can slow up HT crunching by 30%. The following KB # 4056892 4056897 4880960 4880970 any of security rollups dated 1/18 or later You turn off...

Re: not going well (okay now though)

Twasn't me! I was going to put a machine on it this morning but I can't reach it either.

You don't know what a bad day is, I had to do a new Win7 install last night ... pain to the max! Hours of watching hundreds of updates download and install.

At this point it isn't showing in WuPro p. I guess when Sebastien gets FB running again maybe he will add the llr DIV to WuPro p.

I've passed ... in Primegrid Project ... a milestone of 7.000.000.000 points ... ...
That is quite a nice milestone. Being the #6 all time cruncher on PG is also impressive! Congrats

Re: New Radioactive@Home detectors might be coming...

If you move your detector to a different BOINC instance you have to redo the MAP thingy or your credits drop in half. I moved mine and didn't check for a month and then I found it.

Re: credits slashed

That looks more like what I've been seeing. I think it may just be the batches of WU that you picked up when you bunkered. Either that or don't touch a thing on the other one, it is golden  I'm still running the "263" WU and they have increased in running time. The earlier ones were quite a bit...

Re: credits slashed

Your machine is kicking my 2990s butt big time. I haven't even seen a single WU complete in 26 minutes let along "average" that. I've had batches complete in 35 minutes but now most are taking an hour.

Are you running with HT on or off and is that a 2990?

3 of my machines have 120GB SSDs that have been running BOINC 24/7 for 6 years now. I wouldn't be too concerned with reliability.

Re: credits slashed

The server is showing 441k WU in the wild. Between the 2 of us we have 52% of them  I think the issue is with the admin. Several years ago folks were having a credit discussion on a new project. He weighed in with his anti-inflation position. When EG wanted to make a run at Uni I was agains...

Re: Evolution@home

I read through the site and it appears that at this time it isn't a BOINC project. Maybe BOINC is what they are referring to as a future fully automated system.

It probably won't be a Sprint project ... the work is too spotty. Although it wouldn't be the 1st time a sprint was called on a project that had little or no work

Re: BURP

According to THIS page it requires 9.7GB of RAM / WU.

Figuring 10G/WU it will tell you how many WU you can run and from that you can divide up the number of threads you want to run.
