Re: New to PrimeGrid

You guys got me thinking PG again. I'd like to get in on that GCW work units but I am trying to get my 100 year on MCM on WCG. Only 4 more years, about 20-25 days _IF_ I can keep up current RAC. It is already hitting 80f or 27c here some days. I have shut down most of my GPUs on E@H to free up CPU c...

Re: New to PrimeGrid

While I have very little interest in Prime numbers I think Prime Grid is the most interesting and well done project and web site of any I have participated. I'm off it now but plan on returning sometime this fall. Summer heat means much fewer crunchers. Sad times. :-(

Re: New to PrimeGrid

The 280x for some reason has a high error rate on e@h so I had it on MW@H but they have been so unreliable I decided to try PG. Do not really care about primes but the project itself is interesting and seemingly well run. The 1080 always did well on E@H. Since I passed 1 billion on E@H I am more int...

Re: New to PrimeGrid

OK talk about big boy pants. One of the XS guys just got this work unit. I gotta ask; would you run this work unit? Look at some of the run times!
19,053,214.77 seconds! :o

Re: New to PrimeGrid

Well let's hope the big boy pants aren't too big. Seems I checked too many check boxes and the 1080 has a "You feel lucky?" work unit. Boinc says 10d. Lets hope it's a wee bit shorter than that. :confused1:

Re: New to PrimeGrid

Thanks I'll give them a try.

Those GFN 22 scare me. Ran one and it went 66 hours and has sat in pending as inconclusive along with 2 others who errored out and one other inconclusive.

Re: Raspberry Pi

My Pi-stack. 2 RPi 2 and 2 RPi 3. Also have, not shown, a RPi B+ and RPi 3 B+. They run Pi-hole.net DNS ad blocker. 3B+ also crunches. Run a combo seti and e@h on all except B+. Used copper GPU memory chip heat sinks and a USB 120mm fan for cooling the stack. Ordered a Asus Tinker Board last night. ...

Re: New to PrimeGrid

The memory problems are a real nuisance. But what drives me nuts is not knowing what I just did or even why and missing things that are obvious. Like the BIG red button that says "CLICK HERE". And I am sitting there getting mad because I do not know what to do. lol Hey Bryan! Hi Peter! :he...

New to PrimeGrid

New to Primegrid and a bit confused by all the sub-projects. From what I read PPS seive is the best paying. I am using a R9 280x and trying out a GTX 1080. Would like to get badges but a GFN 22 ran for over 66 hours and sits in "Inconclusive" along with wingmen who it errored out or was al...

I did something stupid I think. I posted to the Primegrid forum , or so I thought but it isn't there. Do new posts by newbies get put on hold for approval or did I just screw up? :?:

That link does not work for me. Glad I showing up neither Free-DC or BoincStats show it yet.

I have 742,450 points in pending and inconclusive. Kinda nervous about the inconclusive. It alone is 705k. :angry-tappingfoot:

Thanks for the welcome! :ugeek: I helped out with the WCG boost back in Nov so you can thank or blame Bryan for my presence. I may try and put another GPU on PG but am wanting to defend my position on E@H. I have to shut down most of my crunchers during the summer months. It gets hot in Nashvi...

Old timer saying hi!

Hello from long time XSer. Been around a long time. Mostly WCG and E@H. XS is home. I just put my R9 280x on Prime Grid and joined TSBT for that one project. You do not need it for FB but I can help a little maybe climbing the charts. PG is not a project XS does much with. I am not a math-head but a...
