Wow! A nine year long pause in a thread: Impressive!
But given the amount of traffic on the forum recently it probably counts as quite brisk!

The February results haven’t quite been finalised but a handy brace of results on the final day have improved our score quite a bit.
Our tally is now 8 primes, 5 of them Mega primes.
We are 17th overall. Not too bad for a wee non-specialist team.

Miklos has found another Mega Prime.

Gregg got an utterly huge Mega Prime 284831742¹³¹⁰⁷²+1 (1,108,160 digits)

And I bagged the rather more petite 6063*2^2179330+1. (656,048 digits)

That’s 4 in total for the team. Still 20 days to go.

And TSBT are on the T de P scoreboard, thanks to Miklos who has just discovered 5045*2^2159865+1.

Hopefully the first of many, or at least several.

Yes my thirteenth prime and my biggest so far. It even made the top 5000!

As it is, there are 4 of doing the latest PG challenge: Miklos, myself, Wailing Angus Beef and Laird o’ th’ Wee White Hoose.
After a slightly sluggish start we are now up to 28th. Not bad but I’m sure we can improve on it.

But which projects actually run on Mac OS?

And so, TSBT finished 5th overall.
All 3 individual participants, Scole, Miklos & me, made the top ten.
It's not glory but it's honest & respectible.

A tribute to Willy de Zutter, founder of BOINCStats, who is terminally ill.

It is the sub project GFN21 only and as usual with PG challenges only work downloaded after the kickoff counts.

I remain unconvinced by AI. It's basically enormous copying with considerable bluffing.
And importantly nobody is even pretending to be close to artificial self-awareness or artificial volition.

It's a shame.

If it’s a GPU project for the sprint then some cores will be available for the challenge.
But the challenge continues for a couple of days after the sprint finishes so some cores should be available then.

my biggest prime is 353637844^65536+1 which is a relatively trivial 560,239 digit number.

I think it rather depends on what happens with the FB sprint starting later today. We are steadily gaining on P3DN.

A classic 3rd day mahoosive bunker drop propelled us to a narrow but well deserved sprint victory!

When it says 100% of the CPUs it means 100% of the possible threads. Which on your CPU is a very useful 48! If you are using the PC for other stuff I'd set the max to 94%. 75% might be a reasonable starting point for when you are using the PC. Trial & error are probably your best guide here. As ...
