I don't run SIMAP, so I turn my 4 cores over to Leiden for at least a week. Whether or not I stay on it depends on the credit returned, as I'm still aiming for my 5mil. After which I shall slow down and let the machine rest while I'm at work, instead for burning up the leccy.

I don't always like blowing my own trumpet, but that's 1,000,000 passed in GpuGrid, and shouldn't be too long before I get there in Milky way as well. WooHoo (Trumpet blast.) From what I can gather on the MW site, the MW app uses the ATI graphics cards, rather than the NVidia supported CUDA interface. So it'a OK with new'ish ATI card ( 3xxx nad 4xxx series) but doesn't run on NVidia cards.

Good advice there from Nightlord. In adition, I would reset the BIOS to it's defaults using the motherboard jumpers. The instructions should be in your mobo manual.

Assuming you are looking at the cards for GPU Boinc, which means the 260 and 280, the 260 is about £15 pound cheaper than Ebuyer and the 280 is the same. So both in the right ballpark for average to OK prices. Other suppliers may vary, but I use Ebuyer. http://www.ebuyer.com/search?limit=50&sto...

If it's a modern graphics card, the DVI port also supports Analogue Video. A cheap DVI-VGA adaptor will have the pictures on your screen. I use one for my 2nd monitor.

Your numbers on BoincStats are certainly moving up. The flash I saw in my rear view mirror was deffie aided by the 12 1/2 K a day for GPU grid. A big increase over my 3k from a 9800GT. Everything I have has been running Enigma for the last few months, so it's already getting all I have. Hopefully some of the "farms" out there will displace me from my currwnt #3 position.

I had a similar experience on mu P5K-E mobo. The first few times I was able to recover it by reseting the BIOS with the jumpers, which are cleverly hidden under the graphics card. I have a similar setup (well, the motherboard and PSU are the same, but with a Q6600) and get the same slowdown when the system is not under load. According to CPU-Z, it's the multiplier which is reducing from 9x to 6x when the system is unloaded, but the clock speed stays the same.

That's a pretty low temp you have for that speed and voltage. I have 1.288V at 9 x 333Mhz and my temp is 65 DegC.
