I don't run SIMAP, so I turn my 4 cores over to Leiden for at least a week. Whether or not I stay on it depends on the credit returned, as I'm still aiming for my 5mil. After which I shall slow down and let the machine rest while I'm at work, instead for burning up the leccy.

I've just recently (this week) started running Collatz. The reduction in credit I saw when I got in from work was frightening till I tried the new app for it. I was surprised that it ran OK on my 9800GT, as MWGPU tells me it isn't CUDA 2.3 compatible. Collatz is giving me 500+ credits for 35 mins on...

I don't always like blowing my own trumpet, but that's 1,000,000 passed in GpuGrid, and shouldn't be too long before I get there in Milky way as well. WooHoo (Trumpet blast.) What I need now are a couple of other projects that pay as well. Unfortunately my graphics card won't run the MW CUDA app. Ian

Hi, I just checked my account on the MW site, and all my credits are back, also showing up correctly in my BOINC manager. Just need to wait for the stats sites to catch up. I probably only lost the units that were cancelled, so no harm done to me. I think they have done a good job in getting the sys...

First thing I would try is reseating all the power cables to the motherboard, especially the 12V CPU power connector. If that doesn't work:- Disconnect all external peripherals and try again. Strip the system to PSU, CPU and mother board only (and leave in the graphics card if there is no onboard gr...

I have it installed on my notebook for evaluation. Seems pretty good so far. At first glance very like Vista, but feels much quicker. It still seems to want as much memory as Vista, but as I installed it as an upgrade to Vista, rather than as a fresh install, that may have something to do with it. I...

Well done Ian. I thought that with the new Ninja Cruncher you were going to beat me to the Mega Score. I've been watching BOINStats all day waiting for it to roll over. Looks like I picked the wrong one to look at. Now that I've got there, I'm going to cut back a bit. The electric bills keeping the ...

Your numbers on BoincStats are certainly moving up. The flash I saw in my rear view mirror was deffie aided by the 12 1/2 K a day for GPU grid. A big increase over my 3k from a 9800GT. You should overtake me in about 10 days at that rate. And you had 7th best RAC in the team, from one box, today. We...

I noticed that one of my grid WUs errored out, fortunatelu after only a few seconds. The rest seem to be OK. On a lighter ( for me) note. I put a new heatsink (Zalman VF1000) on to my 9800GT and the temperature has dropped from 90 DegC to 67 DegC, plus it is running much quieter even with the fan at...

According to http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=316
the 256Mb 8800GT will run fine. And at that price, two will run even better.

I had a similar experience on mu P5K-E mobo. The first few times I was able to recover it by reseting the BIOS with the jumpers, which are cleverly hidden under the graphics card. You may have to also do a BIOS recovery using a USB memory key with a good BIOS version on it to reflash the BIOS. Also ...

The first complete WU just finished on my new 9800GT, giving the usual 3232 credit in 16hrs, instead of the 42hrs that the 8600GTS oc took. That will give me an extra 3k per day. Next thing to try, when I get time, is to put the 8600GTS back in the 2nd PCIe slot and try running 2 WUs at once. But th...

My first WU finished just inside the deadline, running for about 42 hrs, and gave me 3232.06 credit. Not bad for (in my case) three days on one core plus the GPU. I have been looking at the 9800GT card, with 112 shaders, compared to the 32 in my 8600GTS. Does anyone know how the app scales (assuming...

Yeah, I don't know what the change in the BIOS to stop it from slowing down, but since my system runs BOINC at 100% all the time, it's not really a problem. Your temps seem quite low. Is that the core temp or the CPU temp which you are quoting? My CPU temp at full load ( and currently slowed down to...

But it does include a Quad as requested All the parts are from Ebuyer, just because you can get them all there, so I have included their QuickFind code.
