Are you guys still working toward improving your position? I haven't seen a position update in a while. If so, I'm about done with one of my other goals and will be upgrading a WCG badge for the foreseeable future. Since you guys have come to our rescue so many times, I'll be glad to throw in my lot with TSBT for a bit.

That's still a team goal. I took a break to work on some other goals like goofyx cpu but I'm but I'm done with that and back on WCG.

Did anyone else notice that after the WCG server maintenance yesterday that all their machines became untrusted? Mine were 100% trusted with only 1/2 page of pendings on SCC, now that has increased to 61 pages. At this point I'm getting quorum of one, but during the re-trusting I got 100s of quorum of 2 wus.

Edit: Appears the validators are down according to their forum. Looks like a forced bunker that should advance TSBT another spot when it clears.

I've been crunching mostly FAH2 and it's all valid.

That's explains why I can't get any. Apparently not all the validators are down. Here's hoping the 108 credits I scored this morning is a fluke.

No obvious problems for me either, mixture of OET and Open Zika.
And, yes Sphynx, as scole says this is still a team priority although it's an ultra-marathon and the sheer tedium of the task can sometimes lead to some collective loss of focus.
But as of today we are up to 130th now!.
We have been helped considerably by your contribution over the last few days, plus of course scole's return to the fold, not to mention my relatively modest but steady efforts. [I'm hoping to get my RAC above 50K and to join you and scole in the top 1000 by total credit by the end of April. :-)1111th at present]

Not to worry. It's a case of slow but steady, & we are getting there.
We are 77th by RAC which, if sustained, makes top 100 by TC inevitable, if not necessarily imminent. The game is indeed very much afoot although it's a bloody long one.
Two more places by the end of April seems to be at least possible.
The important thing is that the stalwarts remain stalwart. And I intend to be the stalwarts' stalwart.
Of course any visiting Ubercrunchers are always welcome to lend a few dozen spare cores any time they can!

Pity, but as you say, we will get there. Slowly, slowly catchy monkey. I'm putting all my systems on WCG between challenges etc.

Which WCG apps pays best on Android; Zika, Ebola or Smash Childhood Cancer?

I haven't had any ebola units in a while. Smash Childhood Cancer pays approx 33% more than Zika at basically the same run time.

Yes, no secret that getting WCG into top 100 is one of our team goals and hopefully people being able to read it will encourage them to take part. That will give us every project within top 100. It's a struggle for sure but considering we started outside 200 we are doing a remarkable job. Feel free to race us up the board, bit of fun and banter never hurt our two teams and both of us in the top 100 would be an awesome achievement ... If not, we'll give you a cheery wave on the way past in a week or two

I would offer to give you a hand but since it's also UBTs only project outside the top 100 I may get in trouble for not sorting out our own placing first.

Grand though it would be to overtake our oldest rivals & friends, the real goal is moving onto the front page. You could always come with us!

So The PCReview Crew II are next in our way. 4 or 5 days should do it.
Then we take whoever is next. If it's UBT - & their lead over us has closed to 1.03M - then so be it!

Might be worth looking at for you lot as well if you're going to stay on WCG (or have crunched it in the past) Basically, you get rewarded with an established crypto currency for crunching WCG. You don't have to change teams, make any alterations to your crunching habits and your Boinc credits still get added to the TSBT total.

You do have to temporarily change your WCG username (but not your password) to link your account to the crypto wallet but then you change it back. You also get a one off bonus payment for any previous WCG you have crunched.

From their post:

Ongoing rate - The payout rate is set at $1.00 (in Bytes) for every 150,000 points.

Bonus payments:
100,000 to 1,000,000 points: $0.20;
1,000,000 to 10,000,000 points: $3.00;
10,000,000 to 100,000,000 points: $40.00;
over 100,000,000 points: $150.00.

'Points' mentioned is WCG points, NOT Boinc credits.

You never know, it may encourage even more of TSBT to crunch WCG.

i don't think there's a catch as such, it appears to be the same idea as Gridcoin.

More visibility, increased trade/demand and hence, a higher value of the currency.

I will add that I haven't tried it myself (due to not crunching WCG) but team members have reported that the bonus payments have been made. Not sure about the ongoing payments.

On most crytpo exchanges you can convert it into Bitcoins then cash (possibly even directly into cash) I don't think Tescos accepts it yet so that may not be an option.

Well, though skeptical, I gave it a try also. Got $152 initial bonus, didn't have to change teams and was able to go back to my normal screen name at WCG. I will say that the initial directions are a bit confusing, at least they were for me, but worked through it. Curious to see how this pans out, but even if I get nothing, I didn't invest anything, so it's pretty riskless.

The value of byteball fluctuates wildly but with my initial bonus and 11 days payments (about $1.5/day) I've now got a stash worth $158.
I'll let it accumulate,& also hope that the exchange rate inproves a bit, before I try converting some of it into real world beer vouchers
