#1 Awesome Daily Figures!

Post by Megacruncher »

Sat 19th Jan 8.6 million!
Sun 20th Jan 10.9 million!
Mon 21st Jan 8.7 million!

3 of our best days ever! :wav:

Dozens of members have contributed to these magnificent totals but 2 standout.

Gary Mc has managed 6.8 million over the 3 days. 8)

Impressive though this is it is small change compared to....

Janos with 11 million over the same period.  8) :D

My position as Heir Eventual to Merlin is seriously under threat and I must respond. DistrRTgen seems to be where they are getting their big credits from so (apart from doing whatever needs to be done to keep other GPU projects* top 100) that's where I'm headed.

Let battle commence!

*(not WCG - it's not worth the effort I'm afraid)

Yes, DistrRTgen credits are way up. The WU's for the current table being generated seem to take around 40% less time to complete but the same fixed credit amount is granted. This returns the credit rate back to roughly what it was six months ago (slightly better).

The members of a certain UK BOINC team seem to largely shy away from DiRT credits (as they put it). As a result our recent RAC is currently better than theirs. This could be a really good opportunity to start our drive to take back our number 1 spot.

The credits still seem pretty decent to me. I managed over 2 million today for the first time in months. The team total for today was 10.1 million. Woo Hoo!

Long may UBT's relative fastidiousness continue. We have nibbled only a few million from their 5.1 Billion lead but the fight-back has got to start somewhere.

We have been for a long time 30th overall by total credit but by RAC we tended to be 50ish. In the last few days we have risen to 36th.

Excellent crunching. :wav:

For me at the moment Primegrid seems to be giving most credits.

DistrRTgen is taking about 57 - 58 mins to do a unit for 12,377 points

Primegrid is taking 14' 50" to do a unit for 3,371 points.

So i just get over 13,000 on Primegrid for same run time as DistrRTgen

Okay. Lets look at recent results

on my GTX 590 (for each GPU)

Primegrid 20 min => 3371 = 10K/hr
DistRTGen 33 min => 12377 = 21K/hr

on the GTX 580

Primegrid 15 min > 3371 = 13.5K/hr
DistRTGen 24 min > 12377 = 31K/hr

Not even close! :D

I've not got any recent Primegrid on ATI I'll have to run some.

What are you running the projects on Andy?

I suppose the moral is that your mileage may vary so if you want to know which projects are best for your set up you need to experiment a bit & check your results.

The credit still does seem exceptionally high.

I looked at the average results returned while running my setup 24 hrs a day and for a brief period the returned results averages seemed to drop but they are back up again.

Lets hope it lasts!

World RAC is currently in 34th! Should we maintain current crunching rates then it will climb a few more places very soon.

Not sure about scaring though, you two will probably just check the basement again
Give it a little while though and we may be able to have a three way scrap 8) and you know Gary Mc can kick some serious ass too when he chooses

26th now!

http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/team/list/16/0#26 :)

Of course this is by RAC.

Sadly, and ironically given our recent surge in productivity, we are about to be demoted to 31st by Total Credit by GPU Users.

Still, we are gaining on UBT &, whereas a few weeks they were 5,085 million ahead of us, the gap is down to 5,021 million. At this rate we will overtake them about Xmas 2015. 8)

As predicted we are now 31st by total credit. But at this rate we will fight our way into the top 20 soon enough.

We continue to chip away at UBTs lead. It peaked at 5,085 million  in January but has now been whittled away to a relatively slender 4,971 million! :) Regaining our UK crown is a long term prospect but a very real one. Press on folks!

Down to 27th by RAC now but still catching UBT by 4 million/day. How much will the credit change at DistRTgen effect us?

we appear to be catching UBT by 5 million a day :D
seems that the additions of cycloneranger gpu's, buster's return and paul's new shiny stuff plus no gpu competitions is making a considerable difference.

Well done the mighty TSBT :thumbright:
so are you saying it's not a good time to set my gpu to crunch other projects instead of collatz?
My project percentages are shocking at the moment, the curse of the 7970 strikes :( and being a credit junkie probably isn't helping

I'm going to stick my neck out and predict that we are going to see an increase to our highest daily total of just over 15 million.
Admittedly this may be slightly distorted by everyone's Collatz units validating but I'm happy to bask in collective team glory :D

I'm not sure that 21,460,575, our Friday total, can really be said to be "just over" 15 million but it's rather impressive. :)
