Anyone with a AMD Threadripper to make me quick test?
Windows binaries here:

http://www.mersenneforum.org/showpost.p ... tcount=133

Run for 30 mins although the client needs to stabilize for 12 hours.
./gap11.exe -n1 9e18 -n2 9.25e18 -n 9e18 -res1 3000 -res2 3100 -res 3000 -m1 1190 -m2 8151 -unknowngap 1382 -numcoprime 27 -sb 24 -bs 14 -mem 64 -t 32

My laptop: 31e9 n/sec with -sb 24 -bs 14 -mem 12 -t 8
cygwin1.7z
gap11_exe.7z

Thank you Alez. Care to join? Odds now as we stand are higher to find a record.

Basically we need to replace the current C?C with new ones with less digits, currently all 19 digits are gone (missing latest update). Now at 20 digits, this means the majority of the C?C above 20 digits will fall. Even a 4C/8T can make a difference.

As the C?C became CFC, this means the prime gap with smaller digits, the flag -unknowngap can be increased which for the same search space the sieve step will be quicker. Steve, client gap12 is at least 50% faster than the one you used to run your ranges so 1000 will take only 2 weeks in your farm. Just to let you know. Time window to own some records is now on the 11-12 range.

We are close to complete up to 11000e15. Open ranges now at 11e18 to 12e18.

I know this is a monologue but trying my best to have more external support.

Linux binaries:

http://mersenneforum.org/showpost.php?p ... tcount=150

BTW, -unknowngap 1382 was discovered on the range 1.1e19 to 1.2e19 which means for range 12000e15 to 13000e15 -unknowngap should be set to 1412. Still awaiting to know if we can shorter -m1 to -m2 space. This will give a boost on speed.

Don't feel bad. I'm sure more read it than ever comment. I would try and help out but my computers are an eighth of the world away just now.
Someone want to put up a quick easy how to run this all in one post and maybe some others will jump onboard ?
How to install, how to run, how to reserve a range, where to report it etc
Preferably covering both windows and Linux.
Let's see if we can give it a bit more prominence. I can also add it under the non Boinc projects with a separate sub forum, see if that gives it some more visibility.

Thank you Alez.

All reservations are made through mersenneforum.org at:

range (1.1e19 to 1.2e19) - http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=22749

but I can reserve a big range and manage the reservations from here but I would prefer if people could go there and reserve the ranges. If not I can do it here.

How to run the client?

An example of a complete line of code for a windows emulator, on a small laptop might be: ./gap12.exe -n1 1.1e19 -n2 1.2e19 -n 1.1e19 -res1 3000 -res2 3100 -res 3000 -m1 1190 -m2 8151 -unknowngap 1382 -numcoprime 27 -sb 24 -bs 13 -mem 2.62 -t 4

or whatever you have named your .exe file
or what ever your reserved range is, taking care to make sure that -res is set initially to the start of the range
these variables depend on the capabilities of your computer

-n1: start of range
-n2: end of range
-n: start of range
-n1 1.1e19 -n2 1.2e19 -n 1.1e19 (fixed per range, what changes are -res1 3000 -res2 3100 -res 3000. -res=-res1 3000 start of block, -res2 end of block. Block goes from 0 to 8151.

Linux binaries:
gap12_linux_static.zip
gap12_linux.zip

Windows binaries:
gap12_exe.7z
cygwin1.7z

-mem 2.62 -t 4

-mem means how much memory you want to allocate
-t number of threads

For example for a 64 thread machine (64 GB) you will need to create 4 folders and run -t 16. Lets imagine for range 1.1e19 to 1.2e19 you want to split (-res1 3000 -res2 4000 -res 3000):

folder 1: ./gap12.exe -n1 1.1e19 -n2 1.2e19 -n 1.1e19 -res1 3000 -res2 3250 -res 3000 -m1 1190 -m2 8151 -unknowngap 1382 -numcoprime 27 -sb 24 -bs 13 -mem 14 -t 16
folder 2: ./gap12.exe -n1 1.1e19 -n2 1.2e19 -n 1.1e19 -res1 3250 -res2 3500 -res 3250 -m1 1190 -m2 8151 -unknowngap 1382 -numcoprime 27 -sb 24 -bs 13 -mem 14 -t 16
folder 3: ./gap12.exe -n1 1.1e19 -n2 1.2e19 -n 1.1e19 -res1 3500 -res2 3750 -res 3500 -m1 1190 -m2 8151 -unknowngap 1382 -numcoprime 27 -sb 24 -bs 13 -mem 14 -t 16
folder 4: ./gap12.exe -n1 1.1e19 -n2 1.2e19 -n 1.1e19 -res1 3750 -res2 4000 -res 3750 -m1 1190 -m2 8151 -unknowngap 1382 -numcoprime 27 -sb 24 -bs 13 -mem 14 -t 16

Everybody works on the same range but different blocks.

For the time being I would like people to try the client before making the project visible since clients are standalone, not internet connection needed, everytime a block is completed you must move the results files before starting a new block. Client resumes and has checkpoints in function of the computer speed (15 mins, my machine).

BTW, the client now takes advantage of avx instructions.
