My holiday is over but nearly all my my credits remain offshore (repatriating a few of my smaller projects, with only a few thousand credits between them, was enough to persuade Boincstats that I was a Brit.)

So I get to be a major player in a major league again (UK 6th - 4th by Xmas, 3rd by RAC) and Anguilla continue to be a rising international power (still 43rd by TC & 30th by RAC). Win win.

# 42 now, though with Mega's credit slowly bleeding away as his dual citizenship expires it leaves more work and fun for me and Silver :)
eventually we will get the projects all in the top 100.
As always any budding pirates are welcome :D
Einstein comp on just now and Anguilla 105 in the world behind Armenia and the isle of man. I refuse to be behind a country famed for tractors ? and another that isn't even a country. Crunch on I say or the plank it will be :D
Yarrr.

We've passed the land of tractors and the country that isn't a country.
Next in line is Jordan and then a place in the top 100 :D

Hi guys,
I'm afraid this Pirate just walked the plank.
The sad literalist in me couldn't let go of the fact that I've never come within 1000 miles of Anguilla whereas I've actually lived in Scotland (48 years), England (3 years), Northern Ireland (6 months) and visited Wales (6 hours) and my maternal grandfather was born & raised there. So to UK I have returned.
Sorry, but I am who I am. :?

Sounds like a party political broadcast/recruitment drive by Aleck of the SNP there ;)
I will wish you all the best in your new homeland (not as good as the first season though)
Thanks for your time spent in our tropical paradise. Lots of love your former pirate chums :(

68th now, Latvia the new target, unless we fall further. Guess we wait till the dust settles then crack on.
No need to apologise Mega, the whole thing is a bit of a laugh anyway. We just get more targets to get past again. Up in the rarefied atmosphere of the to 40's we were going to take ages to overtake anyone anyway. Hope you enjoyed the holiday, drop by for a rum or two when we're not out pillaging :D

You will sink no further. Only my solitary QMC million remains to be repatriated.
68th is pretty good: A good 20 places higher that when I joined the crew.
The Latvians will be surprised when you board them - it's a long way from the Caribbean to the Baltic.

I am glad I specified the GPS upgrade to the fleet, unintended international incidents due to drunken map reading can be so embarrassing 8) Gives Pirates a bad name.

However Paul, do we want to try and get as many projects for Anguilla in the top 100 as possible as well as getting the island as high as possible. If so may i suggest that after the Pogs skynet challenge is over we get a kick on in the Lattice Project and stick in a few thousand to get that up the list. What do you think ?

I'm quite happy following orders captain ;)
I have to say of late I've been a bit of a trophy hunter but I could focus on my countries needs a bit more.
I will preface this with the caveat that I don't have a tremendous amount of cpu power - my odroid plus 3 cores on my pc which might have to reduce to 2 soon :(
I'll move to lattice after pogs and we can see how we get on cap'n :pirate:

If you've got a spare gpu slot and some cash I noticed scan.co.uk are doing an 7990 for £400 with free shipping. That would expedite our campaign to expand our :pirate: empire

I have 3 gpu's running in orac, and 3 gpu's running in caro. caro does have a free slot but I can't get a gpu to run successfully in it. I did have 4 gtx 660 ti's in it at one point, but couldn't keep the system stable. I suspect the asus mobo can't provide enough power to the 4 pcie slots when they are running flat out on Boinc. Have shipped some ribbon cables over from Hong Kong with the intention of building some powered risers which hopefully will sort this out. Then for a while orac will have a gtx 650 running in it until another 7970 finds it way onboard and caro will have the 4 gtx 660ti's.
Guess after that I have to build Aroc :D but Orca does want some more android droids as well
Will have to look into the new nVidia and ATI cards but I suspect at the moment £ / crunch the 7970 is still the best with the 660ti still 2nd. the newest cards are probably best with single card systems but not when you start running multiple cards, as the newer cards have far higher power requirements, the benefits are not reflected in the increased output.

I think with a gear list like that it I can safely say that your more than pulling your weight in the team :notworthy:

It also looks like it'll be the next generation cards when they drop down to a 22nm architecture - or wherever they head - that we'll start to see some useful power consumption drops, fingers crossed.
The new amd R290 and 290X series both look like they draw more than the old 7970s which isn't really progress on that front.

Maybe we just need to keep our fingers crossed that parallella finally gets going and with the 64 core epiphany chip, and that someone ports it for boinc use!

We just overtook Haiti in Seti for #173. Ghana up next. 7 Gpu's and I am lucky to get over 20K a day. The credit levels are abysmal :(

I have to admit that I've reconfigured to run half seti and half Dirt. Sorry I just couldn't cope with my card only making a few thousand points per day :?
I'll have to look into getting the Intel gpu working and then stick it onto seti more long term I think

No apologies necessary. I have 4 left on prime :D . This is only happening until collatz is back, then the gloves are off and it's credit time, up the world table. GPU's are not for this crazy level of cpu credit.

Since Seti is still by far and away our worst performing project, Orac will be back on it to try for some respectability ( though I think that will be in the VERY long haul ) Currently we are 171st behind Wallis And Futuna Islands which I had to google http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallis_and_Futuna

I have been running a few units through but as has been said the credit is almost non existent :(
If the scheduler would allow me to set run percentages I would configure for 25% Seti to allow me to generate credit elsewhere....
I wonder if a droid on linux would make a useful contribution
