Dunno. Comments from others? I think some want to run as just TSBT. I'm not sure what our friends on other teams want to do yet.

My favourite tournament of the entire year and, to be brutally honest, I just can't find the enthusiasm after the crap from TaaT on the last sprint.

There is also the small matter of RL commitment as the pentathlon is all-consuming

Thanks for that.

My preference is to run as TSBT - if anyone wants to join us that's fine. If we don't win any medals, that is also fine :D

SUSA is running. I'll toss out the option of running with them. They have lost a lot of cores over the past few years so they could use the help. They helped us out on many BOINCStats team challenges way back when they were a lot bigger, under pseudo IDs and we didn't even know they were helping us. One last charge of the light cavalry? I'll crunch with TSBT if that's what the team decides.

If there was a vote (and I think there should be), I would vote to run as TSBT in the Pentathlon and with SUSA on that fiendishly-complex WCG thing towards the end of the year. The GPU app for WCG is a game-changer so that Thor thing will be turned on its head this year.

I'll certainly respect the team vote and would proudly crunch for SUSA as they've given us loads of help for as long as I've been crunching - and doubtless longer. I just think that, after the bruising we got during 'ODLK-Gate', the Pentathlon is just what TSBT needs.

Needn't be a poll on the forum - we can all just PM scole with our votes to allow an (optional) explanation to be included

Over the past few weeks I added about 6.5M to NumberFields so you passed TaaT on FB. I'm done and heading back home.

I don't foresee doing any more FB this year.

The main reasons would be
1. that we owe SUSA a debt built up over the years. &
2. TSBT (generously assisted by SUSA & others) have won the pentathlon 2 years in a row & maybe someone else should get a chance.
3. It's better to give than recieve.

But I'll go with either option. I've PMed @scole of TSBT with my finely judged preference.

I've received feedback from most of the recent regulars and nobody is opposed to running with SETI.USA so far. Comments are still open.

Yes.
David. Please “pause” our renting contract on the 18.04.2021. The rest of 1 day plus 3 weeks or equivalent costs (GPU, for example, managed by needs) is donated to Pentathlon, under the following accounts by order of preference:

Steve Cole
The Dragoons
You David
Or other if the above are not interested.

To be honest I don’t have a boinc account to all projects therefore it will be not feasible for me to manage my rent during the challenge. Up to the above as stated.

Well, in talking with all the SUSA guys this morning, we feel no debt is owed from TSBT. We have both helped each other in times past and will continue to do so in the future. That said, we feel this year is not our year. We are not the SUSA of old and we don't feel right having you do most of the heavy lifting under the SUSA Flag. You have recruited, upgraded and developed new tools to help TSBT succeed and whatever glory comes during the Pentathlon should be yours. I'm sorry that we put you through all this discussion on what to do and who to do it for, but your "yes" votes won't be forgotten. Though we are hamstrung on power and missing some important members on our team, we are more than willing and would feel privileged to join forces with you under the TSBT Flag this year.

Again, I apologize for dropping this on you just after you voted and especially after all the consideration, but SUSA feels uneasy taking such a big gift when we will not be able to hold up our end of it.

You guys are the best of us! See you at the Pent!

@Big Al I think I've got something in my eye. Okay, sorted.

Please ensure that your SUSA Pentathletes know that krunchie (the artist formerly known as btsk) is on offer to them regardless of how large or small their contribution. And not just for the Pentathlon - for keeps.
