@Dirk Broer Had to go to a rig in your neck of the woods off Den Helder. Internet is shocking. Will try again today to update sigs.

Den Helder, the utter north of North Holland! Mainland North Holland that is, the isle Texel (or, as the locals prefer, Tessel) is also a part of North Holland.
Den Helder is also the Dutch equivalent of old Scapa Flow: main port of the Royal Dutch Navy.

I think this is fool-proof but could you just try it for me please? • There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don’t

Could be wrong but I suggested doing it because I think the real improvement comes from having a static filename for the image; it will be cached by the user's own browser and downloaded once. A link to Seb's site is treated as dynamic content and will be retrieved each time.Alez wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 12:55 pmYes it does make load times far faster. The sig is downloaded from sebs server every time you open a thread, plus every other sig on that thread that is being pulled from sebs server. It makes loading threads very slow, especially noticeable if you are on a slow connection. It also has the advantage of not having to wait whilst connecting to an external server. The server we run the forum on should have no load issues. There was also the issue with sebs server not running https which would cause browsers to complain that the content was mixed https and http. That's not an issue now.scole of TSBT wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 1:19 am I've been meaning to ask how does saving a signature on the TSBT server and loading it from there speed things up? Does the TSBT server feed the image to the browser faster than Seb's server? Because that's the only performance benefit that could be gained, afaik. Otherwise it's just putting more load on the TSBT server

Yes @davidBAM That is a big part of the saving. I had hoped to get off this rig and update this and the HTTPS cert over a reliable connection, but yet another change in quarantine rules etc. means I am stuck onboard here. I'll just have to give it a go and hope for the best. Wish me luck and apologies in advance if this doesn't work.

This will cost me my Monkey Badges for now, as Goofyx is halfway yet another re-incarnation of his typewriting monkey business and his server knows nothing or nobody yetDirk Broer wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 9:49 am My signature is not up to date anymore, as you can see when you compare these two

My signature is not showing because , I forgot how to set it up show in my posts. There is no urgency for me to fix this as I changed my name and password in all projects and BoincStats from Cruncher Pete. After a few days of crunching all projects with all machines, the CPID have not changed and even in BoincStats it still shows Cruncher Pete when I log in a McShane of TSBT. Besides what is showing there is all over the place and some shows project teams that I have not crunched for years. Not a problem. As it said in another forum, I am no longer interested in personal glory and am crunching for the Team only.

Forgotten how to set it up show in my posts? You can ask Seb of https://signature.statseb.fr/ to combine these id's with this one via a merge CPID request, for starters. It's up to you how your signature actually looks like.
Another tip: replace < and > with [ and ] in https://signature.statseb.fr/sig-2726.png> -and no > after png either- so it becomes like this:
Now, that's sure a nice set of badges...

I just scored my 20th WUProp star. This, together with some earlier changes I reported earlier in this thread make me want to ask for an updated signature, so it looks like
