So I don't bunker a lot .. loaded up and cut off so I should get an extra half-year or so of runtime when this starts and we open up.

I plan on unloading most clients after the start. Since this is my first time bunkering, shall I wait much beyond the start time, tomorrow evening?Gibson Praise wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 3:06 am So I don't bunker a lot .. loaded up and cut off so I should get an extra half-year or so of runtime when this starts and we open up.

I would upload all tonight, maybe 30 minutes after the start at 8:30pm eastern. You have some WUs that will already have completed WU past the deadline so sooner the better.

It starts on Oct-05 00:00 UTC which is 8:00PM eastern tonight. I'd wait until at least 8:30PM eastern just to make sure they get a good stats snapshot. You can wait until tomorrow if you want to though.

Yes, but we are on a roll. I got so far after 12 hours=87 days, with bunkering. And now running almost flat out. Also, there are many of my tasks that were returned and waiting for credit.Gibson Praise wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 2:43 pm THOR Challenge Week 3

Hello Gregg, it all helps in our quest to get into the top 20 by the end of the week.
Great crunching team, I am in 5th place for the day, so far, in this high crunching company. Now with 3 more clients chomping away on the tasks.

My goodness. I wish they'd improve the challenge stats. 25hrs in and we are all still on sfa!
I dont necessarily expect realtime stats, but at least once a day would be a start!

I think I got 129 days in 36 hours, even though I shut down my clients accidentally.
I will ask my guru to help me put on more clients. Maybe do 1/2 year per day.

11th is pretty impressive.
And we are ahead of TAAT.
I'd imagined that by this stage in the week I'd have all my cores on ODLK but, I've pretty much crunched my entire bunker and can't get any more, so, I might as well set a few more cores onto WCG.
Charge!

10th is possible. Let's go for it.
Even more feasible is qualifying for week 5 ie the Thor Pure final. There will be 20 qualifiers and as things stand we are sitting 18th.

In general though, it depends on the GPU project. Things like Collatz and SRbase TF use so little CPU that I ignore them and put all threads on CPU projects.Miklos M wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 1:36 amThank you, I forgot.scole of TSBT wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 1:02 amNumber of WUs crunched doesn't matter for the 3rd segment. PrimeGrid, Moo and NumberFields use a lot of CPU to keep the GPU going flat out
Amicable Numbers is sort of in-between - seems to use a lot of CPU and then a lot of GPU as the WU proceeds

Well, by this stage 2 things seem to be clear:
1. We are 15th in Week 3 & are very unlikely to make it into the Top 10 so qualification for Week 4 is unlikely.
2. We are 18th in qualification for Thor Pure. Twenty qualify so that sounds a bit uncomfortable but it isn't. We are way ahead of the team in 21st so a fairly minimal effort will see us qualify for Week 5.
I'm moving my main resources to the Sprint. But the Pi Platoon will be good for at least another 100 days before we are done.
Don't flog your clients too hard Miklos: Remember this one is all about time, speed has nothing to do with it.

That is number of threads, half that for number of cores. Am down by several machines at the moment as well but don't hold back - some of these cores are not up to much

Steady on chaps. No need for last minute heroics.
We are still 18th in qualification for the Thor Pure Challenge.
18. The Scottish Boinc Team 36 years, 143 days
19. UserFriendly.Org 35 years, 53 days
20. AMD Users 31 years, 302 days
21. BRASIL - BRAZIL@GRID 27 years, 156 days
22. Sweden 13 years, 185 days
Twenty qualify. Look at the figures and relax. Brazil are not suddenly going to crunch 9years in 2 days when all they have managed in 19 days is 27years. Qualification is in the bag!
Conversely it is game over as far as qualifying for Week 4 of Thor Dirty is concerned. We are 19th on c.14 years. To qualify we need to end at least 10th. CNT in 10th have c.31 years. To overtake that in 48hrs we'd need at least 3100 cores on it. Not gonna happen!
So chillax & keep your foci on the Numberfields sprint & the Gerasim Marathon.
And rejoice that we have done rather well in a challenge in a project which for years was one where we struggled to reach the top 100!

Hold the Pi farm!
Thor Challenge Wk 3 finished 7 hours ago but the results haven't been announced yet.
No way we could have qualified for week 4 but week 5/Thor Pure is a cert. And unlike weeks 1, 2 & 3 it doesn't clash with any FB sprints!

Miklos, you can take the GPUs also. We all crunch for different teams every now and then. You would be welcome here even if you didn't crunch for TSBT at all.
