Anyone interested in giving this a run?

Megacruncher , you're less than 32mil from the ONE BEEELLION milestone on PG

EDIT: Hold my beer. I'm going for the PPS Sieve 200mil double silver

I'm in!
Doing a little bit of bunkering.
As for my BEEELLION I suspect it will take me longer than the four days of the comp but I'll get there before 2017 is done!

Tried to change over to PG from Collatz remotely. Fingers crossed I'll contribute something.

That's all I got. Not sure how long that lead will last. Looks like there's a big turnout for this one. Let's see what Megacruncher saved up.

BTW...if you're running Nvidia GPUs, PPS Sieve is the best paying GPU app.

I saved up what I thought was quite a lot but it's only enough to get me into a rather poor 2nd place way behind scole!

As things stand we have established a huge lead so lets just try and hold on to it! 8-)

We are maintaining a fairly constant 7 million lead over SETI.Germany!
And I've got 4,270,282 in PG pending credit. Let's hope that some of it gets through in the next 3 days.

You need to calculate how many WUs you can finish on each system and keep your cache loaded with as many WUs as possible up to the number you est you can finish. Give those WUs time to age and clear pending when complete. Only about 7% of my completed are pending.

This is a bunker calculator I use...

Thanks. The problem with primegrid is that there is a limit to how many WU you can download. As you said the PPS Sieve ones are best value but only take a few minutes to run so you can't build up a decent bunker running them alone. Other slower WUs give fewer credits/min but have long shelflives and do in theory allow big bunkers. But that's no good if your wingman hasn't done the necessary until the comp is over. :(
But there's time for them to come through yet & we're not doing too badly, increasing the team lead to 7.2 M and holding Individual #1 & #2 without any obvious challenge! 8-)

I've been preoccupied and didn't think to add the other GPUs to that machine until I saw Scole's post.

I'm stuck on Linux for the next couple of days so I can't bring up the other 2 Nvidia GPUs. 1 will have to do but it appears we are in pretty good shape - at least for now.

Why?, all my nVidia's are on linux. Caro has 3 x GTX970's. On linux I just add the GPU's and fire it up, no messing about like on doze to get it to play nice.

Our lead is now 5.2M with just 41 hrs left to go.
Too early to relax, but not too early to start chilling the fizz!

While I'm here - how do you get 10 GPUs into one machine? Or do you jest?

Try getting it running with 2 different types of GPUs. My server boards have built-in Aspeed GPUs and that is used for IPMI. Adding a Nvidia GPU just screws things up. Since I operate remotely for 6 months a year I would much rather have the IPMI than crunch with a GPU on Linux.

@Bryan, that's the one draw back on linux. It really does not play nice with different brand GPU's and has always had an issue with iGPU's. I never managed to get the Intel iGPU to run whilst having any other external GPU plugged in.

I was hoping you knew how to get it to work  Everything I've read basically says what you did. When I get home next spring I'm going to call SuperMicro and see if there is a way to turn off the Aspeed chip and use the Nvidia instead. The MB manual doesn't mention doing that.

Anyhoo.
Ten hours to go and SETI.Germany have narrowed our lead to 4.9Million. Hopefully too little, too late.
Scole is unassailable in the lead, Another 3 of us are in the top 10, although I've got a fight on my hands for second. It would be nice if some of my 4.3M pending credit were to stand up & be counted.

I added another 1080TI 6 hours ago and there are 8 hours left to go. It is only at the 40% validation rate so far. I'm gaining on the 2 positions above me but there won't be enough time to catch either of them.

Unless SG has some pretty good bunkers I don't think they will catch us.
