I am guessing that the huge bunkers you guys dropped have maybe mostly validated now? They would have been contributing handsomely even after the initial drops.

Second place looks safe but I'll be staying on Acoustics as the points will still come in very handy for the year-long marathon. Plus, I am keen to see if I can get 7th user place in this challenge :D

I had a wee bunker drop https://boincstats.com/en/stats/175/use ... B%5D=21251 so I am hopeful that it'll be enough to get me 6th place before the end of the Challenge. Depends if the other guys have anything left in the tank I guess (or are remotely bothered  ). Didn't want to leave it any longer as I now have 4500 WU in pending

Note that the table header in previous post now includes links to relevant Formula Boinc page (on Marathon Pts) and to Project home page (on Asteroids@home). This is true of all new posts from TSBTbot

Thanks for that Pete - feedback of any kind is greatly appreciated and good feedback is especially nice to hear  :D

I'm glad you are liking the stats updates, I well-remember how confused I was by it all when I started competing at the end of last year. Hopefully these posts will clear the muddy waters a little for others

Thanks for that Pete - it did actually happen a few days back; hopefully, I'll be able to support the other guys as a lot of admin work is, by nature, largely unseen.

I've never run a real Marathon (detested running all my life except when there was a soccer ball to chase), but reckon you can only ever beat the guy who is immediately in front of you. A team marathon is no different, no point me looking at what Mumps can do - the guy in front of me is the only one who matters

Mumps is fortunate enough to work for a company that allows him to host all the spare equipment he can scrounge up and run it at their offices. They even allow him to use old company equipment for a bit after it's been swapped out.

Use those extra clients to load up on enough WU to last until the end of the challenge.

He's toast, just keep the pedal down!

Mumps works for a database company that also rents out server space. They have systems that range from older servers to the latest and greatest. As they retire equipment, and they still have the same type of server still active on-line, then they keep some of them as spares. They keep some of the spares powered up and operating in case they have a failure on one of the on-line systems they know the replacement is good. Due to licensing stuff (Microsoft/Hyper V, etc) you can't just throw in a new server ... it is easier and cheaper just to stick in the same type machine. So Mumps gets to keep those machines running and "stress" testing them :D

Cruncher Pete wrote: Mon Feb 18, 2019 7:24 am To be honest David, I would recommend an Admin position for you for currently we have two Admins and for RL reasons they have not been very active. I admire your enthusiasm and commitment to TSBT. I hope you will keep that commitment and don't follow me and go on walkabout, the term we use in Australia for disappearing for awhile to perhaps recharge the system.
David was made an admin by myself a couple of weeks ago. Even if I am not posting, I usually check the site most days and do hours of stuff in the background. If you don't notice then I guess I am doing my job correctly :D I've spent days getting the board e-mail system functional again just as a small example with a great deal of help from David.

David has brought a huge amount of work to the team in a very small timeframe. His WCG stats site and the marathon stats are just some of what he has been up to. I'm sure there will be more deserved praise as further work is unveiled.
His enthusiasm and commitment is very much appreciated.

No. Once competition is complete , that's all folks.
They will however continue to count towards your individual, team and Formula BOINC scores.

I'll post the final update once I'm finished messing with the WCG forum.

I beg to differ. There are 572 people in this challenge.

A great effort all round guys

Considering MUMPS could go full on nuclear and outcrunch us altogether, I think 7 of us in 2nd position is a team effort to be proud of. It also puts this project safe in 1st place on the FB comp for quite a while. We beat many, much bigger teams than ourselves through team work where ever point counts.
I'd love more members of the team to take part, but we 7 can hold our heads up high.
Well done all.

MUMPS should be disqualified for not having to pay for his own hardware or electricity ... ... unless, of course, he helps us out on the TSBT team, in which case I will abandon these deeply-held principles

Mumps is a really good guy. I know he's helped us plenty before. A lot of others have too such as Bryan, Pete, Sphynx, DrPop, haunted forest, cineonlut and others.

That's why we get to come over and trash talk inside the "inner sanctum"

On the flip side, TSBT has helped SUSA on MANY occasions also.

I earned my Accoustics 5 mil badge Image and pushed the SSPEMDD app past 100k hours for a purple app Image

I glad it's over. I ran it for 13 days and I've got to run something else :P

I still have 350 WU in pending  Looks like we can ignore this one until the Sprint :D

I don't have a table for week 7 (software wasn't configured to produce it) but you can see from the above that we earned almost 9M in Week 7
