18/12 - 25/12 Ramjet Memorial - WCG Time based challenge.
#1 18/12 - 25/12 Ramjet Memorial - WCG Time based challenge.
https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team ... ngeId=9283
Challenge held in honor of AMD Users late member Ramjet (for those of you who like to compare their scores against others: he worked under the Jason1478963 account, and had our biggest collection of 100-year badges together with his account mates -his family).
It is a runtime based challenge for all sub-projects (in the hope new sub-projects will come out in December)
Challenge runs from 18/12 to 25/12.

Where would I find start/end times please? Would you assume midnight to midnight UTC unless otherwise stated?

No idea. First time I've been part of a WCG challenge. Dirk Broer do you know the kick off time ?

I'm pretty sure WCG uses 0000 UTC. 2 of the challenges I've run on it recently both used that time.

No points on the board for any team so far.

Maybe it's like the WCG Thor time based challenge and only updates time once per day. First update won't come until after 00:00 UTC tonight.

I'll be dropping bunkers after 6pm tomorrow so as to catch the Crunchathlon too

Had to drop a bunker early as that machine had 40 idle threads

Only 200 hours behind 3rd place so far. Have upped my cores, hopefully the i5 online tomorrow since it will not connect to network so far, so complete re install of Lubuntu. Had last server as far as installing ubuntu and now dead again. Will try for 5 more droids once back from hospital again. Bloody sick of the places.

Well done guys.
I have a big bunker release happening at 6pm so that will be in the midnight figures. Totally depends on what others do but I'll be hoping we gain a place or two.
Hoping to bunker again for a release times to catch end of Ramjet challenge and start of our own Elves challenge. Only problem might be doing it unattended as we'll be away for a few nights

You also need to bear in mind that some WU might go stale in your bunker. I think my planned drops each catch 2 challenges.
I'll be running open for a day or two at most. Hope I've got this right

Yup, sounds like you are ahead of me as I'm not sure when my bunkers start to go stale.
Also trying to keep GPUs busy on Collatz on most machines.
I do love a challenge; this why I enjoy Boinc so much

Excellent, keep up the good work. Would you like to try the Performance Monitor? Gives a breakdown per machine per hour

That gap closed from AMD damn fast...
I managed 1.3m points generated today but had to power down so its the slow coast in now for me with about 24 pages of results pending validation.
Fingers crossed.

Nice work Jock
Several of us dropping bunkers after midnight tomorrow so, even if we lose 1st place, it is hopefully only for 24hrs
