Didn't Willie choose 0900 on 26th?
I did indeed. The last round-up introduced some, erm.., anomalies which I will try and sort out. Doubtless I will increase the confusion 10 fold. If your guess isn't where you think it should be tell me and I'll do my best to fix it.

Whatever, I've given Mr Thinhead 0900 on the 26th and opted for the unacustomed role of team pessimist by shifting my guess to late on boxing day afternoon.

Although we are now just 9.4M short of the big one Jock's farm has switched off almost totally & I reckon that we will be reduced to a mere 3.5 million per day.

No need to apologise - I don't particularly want to be team pessimist & anyway to maximise the fun I've left the guessing open until 999 million so you can keep changing your mind for a while to come.

A major fly has just landed in the predictive ointment.
Collatz has gone tits-up and their Admin is away for Xmas.
So make sure you've got Milkyway attached as a back-up & be prepared for this turning into a guess when Collatz gets back on-line comp. C'est le Boinc! :?

Wow... I couldn't figure out why my new choice had become a subject of international diplomacy all of a sudden, but I see from a close reading of the scrolls what went wrong.

I am happy to concede 0900 if Willie wants to lay first claim. But if not I will stick with that.

Must go now, my private jet awaits, and I hope to be back in my very own remote corner of Perthshire before midnight.

Not a problem - I was planning a revision anyway so 0900 is yours for as long as you want it.

Watch that private jet now - the runways are icy up here.

I lost a power supply fan last night. :(

Managed to rig something this morning, but it sounded dreadful and more importantly, the psu was complaining like it was about to expire in flames (I've seen that only once before and it's frightening). So I'm one cruncher down on MW until I can get a big enough psu to replace it.

That and with JockMacMad's festive jaunt down South, it's time to move the guess again.

If my cut & paste skills are better than Mike's then the state of the art is:

CycloneRanger ...............0000 26th Dec [as far as I can decipher! Wink ]
JockMacMad ................... 0300 26th Dec
Mr Thinhead ................... 0900 26th Dec
Robbie .......................... 1000 26th Dec

IanMBaker ..................... 1400 26th Dec
PinkPenguin ................... 1500 26th Dec
FlyingfocRS .................... 1600 26th Dec
Reeltime ........................ 1800 26th Dec
Aardvark ....................... 1900 26th Dec
Nightlord ....................... 2000 26th Dec
Megacruncher ................ 2100 26th Dec

As you will see I've decided to be a wee bit more pessimisic. We have just over 6 million to go and managed 3.3 million in the last day.

Keep watching & keep revising those guesses.

PS Merry Xmas!! :reindeer: :reindeer:

Late to the competition, almost too late, but I've stuck a guess in a gap I spotted.

Merry Christmas everyone. Enjoy the day, it's almost over here. :(

You'd only be too late if we had passed 999 million. As it is we are still 2.5 million short of our historic landmark.

With an hour of the day gone I think it's reasonable to assume that we will make the grade sometime in the second half of today.

Those guessing a time before lunch might want to think about grabbing one of the evening slots whilst they remain available.

Too pessimistic and a little rash methinks. We are 1.25 million short as of 10 am. Just to show my faith in our crunching ability I shall pinch the 1800 slot vacated by Reeltime.

Hi guys, hope you all had a great time yesterday and if you were traveling that you got to where you wanted to be safe and sound despite the weather.

It looks a tight call. Even 8-10 hours out, it's difficult to be certain, but I think there are three guesses that are close to being on the mark, starting with Willie, then Aardvark, followed by yours truly.

Out of those, it seems to me that Aardvark has the best chance of pulling it off.

However, it only needs one project to report some credits early and Willie will indulge himself in a bottle of malt: or if a project goes offline I may still snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

According to Temujins stat's http://ubt-seti.dyndns.org/tsbt/UBT.php the total at 12:00 was 999,043,505. It's now in the lap of the gods :) (that would be a good name for a song  )

I hope everybody had a good Christmas and manage to achieve all that they wish for in the New Year to come.
