nearly 9 days in some cases but at least they tell you they can be long. I guess multi-threaded would be a lot quicker but easier to allocate threads singly

Hmmm ..

I have lucky I guess with the longs. I run t2 units and my longest so far is 34 hours, most running well under 24 hours. This is on linux, I won't run windows and its virtual box solution.

It was on my best Intel too : Xeon(R) CPU E5-2696 v4 @ 2.20GHz (so you will see that I am switching over to Ryzen :D ). t2 is probably a good compromise actually so I'll do that in future
