#1 nVidia GTX 780 vs 770 vs 760

I've read the specs on each and understand the relative crunching ability of each compared to each other, but how hot do they run or are they difficult to keep cool?

No idea as I've got 4 GTX 660ti's which are hot and a PITA on linux but do work well on windoze and are not obsolete yet. That said I have a GTX 750ti which for less than 50 W power usage is a bloody impressive card and will be my nVidia upgrade unless the newer ones are pretty good. Also have a GTX650 which is a graphics card, enough said

I think the latest recommended version is 344.11 whql though I am running my GTX750ti with 335.23 with no issues but that is on win 7. The best upgrade is to get rid of win 8 :D Get the drivers from nVidia, not the control panel on windows and use the advance setting of a clean install.
What is the issue you are having ?

Well based on my experience so far, my Asus GTX 780 gets it done and coexists with my 7970 well (heat wise and everything else), the 770 runs well but it's a Gigabyte GPU which has 3 fans but does not exhaust it out the back of the case much so the heat much be drawn out other ways. Doesn't play well with another GPU. Gets hot. Picked up a 660 Ti which also runs well, but it too is a Gigabyte card and doesn't push heat out of the case much. Then there's the original 460 which based on specs, is less than half the gpu of the 660 Ti, but performs better than expected. Want to try a 750 Ti next. It only uses 60 watts compared to 150 of the 660 ti and 280 watts for the 780. More watts = higher temps and more trouble keeping the rig/cpu/gpu(s) cool. But as I browse Ebay, if I could snag a 680 for the right price, I'd be a happy pirate. :pirate:
