You have a friend here Greg. I was born in Hungary with some past Scottish History but I have never been there. I am 77 years of age and have lived in Australia for 63 years. My brother also lived in the USA for the same time, but I like Scotland and the people. Well done in your choice and may you be happy here.
thank You, your's signature ... is an impressive one ... sincerely, Gregg Roman Granowski ...

Very impressive, Sir. Well done.

Hope you stay on it for next 7 days as the WCG 15th Birthday Challenge starts at midnight tonight. I'll be dropping bunkers just as soon as the daily update finishes (usually about 30-40 mins later)
I think this is fool-proof but could you just try it for me please? • There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don’t

No problem

Yeah, I did 360M on Universe this year so will only be running it for challenges now (and maybe on the Raspberry Pis since there isn't a lot else for them at the moment)

Looks like a good target for the end of the calendar year

Do you know about the Collatz optimisations for various graphics cards? Gives approx 30% time reduction on high-end nVidia

This is what I ran on a Radeon VII...

In the app_config.xml, I used this...

Code: Select all

<app_config>
<app>
<name>collatz_sieve</name>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>1</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>1</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
</app_config>
On Win64, this config must go in filename collatz_sieve_1.30_windows_x86_64__opencl_ati_gpu.config (in project folder)
On Linux, this config must go in the empty file with the appropriate filename. Should be easy to identify.

Code: Select all

verbose=1
kernels_per_reduction=48
threads=8
lut_size=17
sleep=1
reduce_cpu=0
sieve_size=30
The Boinc client must be restarted after those files are changed. And if it does work, watch those GPU temps. It makes a big difference.
