Doric to English translation:

I now live in Dorset but was born and brought up in Aberdeen. My ancestors were corn millers from Fyvie.

I've been Boinc'ing since 2004 for Team Picard which is now all but dead. I first considered joining TSBT two years ago and have finally taken the plunge, only to find that Gibson Praise beat me by a few weeks.

My active projects are:

Asteroids@home
CPDN (I was a moderator on the pre-Boinc phpBB forum and have continued in that role on the Boinc message boards).
CPDN Beta (closed pre-release test project)
Einstein@home
TN-Grid Platform
Universe@home
WCG
WUProp@home

Projects I'm still attached to which I haven't had any work from for ages:

Albert@home
Citizen Science Grid
DENIS@home

Welcome to TSBT Thyme Lawn :-) (very strange to be saying that :? after so many years at Picard)

I would have said hello sooner but I have been hors de combat the past couple of days. :(

Guid goad! And no, I am going no further. I don't speak or write Doric but I am having a wonderful time deciphering what's here! ( and of course absolutely mangling the pronunciation in my head  .. I listened to the video .. I reckon 10 or 12 passes at it and I'll understand more than I don't  )

So by all means, keep conversing!

Sadly you'll struggle to find an online Doric to English translation service. Although there do seem to be a few that work in the opposite direction. eg https://doricphrases.com/scottish-translator.php

'Tis indeed my good self playing the distinguished gentleman of high office. The makeup department did a GREAT job to make me look as old as that

Iā€™m sure the task of turning Gary Oldman into Winston Churchill would have seemed simple by comparison!
Impressive however that we have a star of the Doric Film World in our midst. :notworthy:
