#1 NFS@Home support
Hi,
Can I request support from you all to run lasieve5f application where we queued more than 1M wus to sieve 6,383-, 7,353+, 7,353-, and 2,1009+composites.
Thank you in advance,
Carlos

Issue a challenge! lasieve5f is the well-paying 16e Lattice, July is a month with hardly any challenges so far...When the big guns from the great teams have spoken, millions of WUs may have been crunched.pinhodecarlos wrote:Hi, Can I request support from you all to run lasieve5f application?

@Carlos, go onto NFS and create a team. Then I think you can go to BStats and issue a challenge.pinhodecarlos wrote:Don't have power to issue a BOINCStats challenge.

Carlos, Give me a time frame for when you want one issued and I will do it from my Anguillan Pirates account if you wish.
I will need a bit of lead up time as you need to have a certain RAC and at least 2 crunchers on a project to issue a challenge.

What RAC is needed?
#11 Re: NFS@Home support
I think we should have the required RAC now. Just need BoincStats to update and recognise that there is more than 1 cruncher on it and we will be good to go. Will set up for 10/7 00:00 UTC for 7 days as that is the longest we can run a comp for. If that is acceptable to all ?

I was thinking about the challenge name, it should be more generic hence we have more than 750k 14e wu's to queue. To run the 16e wu's ~1GB of memory is needed rather than 400MB for the 14e tasks.

Need Fast Ships, Pirates Ahoy !! NFS@Home Challenge.
Pirates like numbers. Pirates like to count their loot in the booty locker. Pirates also like spending their loot hence they never deal with really big numbers.
NFS@Home has a really big number of units to crunch. Really large numbers hurt pirates brains. Help a pirate today by making some of the really big numbers on NFS@Home go away.
Any good ? Feel free to suggest alternatives.
Still waiting for the Boincstats server to recognise that there is more than 1 cruncher on NFS. The team status says 3 but the challenge section doesn't agree. We will get there in the end. Carlos, you're more than welcome to be a honoury pirate if you wish. With Dirk onboard to, then this little bunch of pirates might just hammer a few of the larger teams ......
Best make sure there are lots of 16e though as for most systems ( with enough memory ) the 14e and 16e take roughly the same time but 16e pays much, much better and will be prioritised by the challenge.

Just to let you guys know that with regards to the 16e number of wus after a conversation with NFS administrator we can easily duplicate or triple the number of available work hence the Cunnigham projects has still a lot of composites to sieve. Let's see what will the challenge show.

Alez probably got his internet access revoked by the rig operator for streaming too many videos again As soon as we get confirmation I'm going to load a bunker. I'll stay with Anguillan Pirates and crunch the whole challenge there.

Jeez, have patience. I'm in India, time zones etc.
Anyhoo, challenge set up http://boincstats.com/en/stats/challenge/team/chat/799
I'll be crunching for Anguillan Pirates too. Only seem right that if I issue the challenge I try my best not to come last.

I'll post in challenge section in a mo. Got toi go check in for a helo. Can almost taste the beer

Nice one. Depending on which teams join this could be fun. If I get home in time I may even bunker Always a struggle to keep up when scole gives himself a 5 day head start. Finally off ship, time for a beer ( it's not breakfast time here so it's not as bad as it sounds ..... honest )

Mine too! What say ye Alez? My bunker drop will put TSBT close to 1st on NFS but OcUK will chase us to get it back. We're in a pretty safe 2nd though with 14mil between TSBT and the 3rd place team. I'm just as happy to crunch for Anguillan Pirates and give them a boost.pinhodecarlos wrote:Here's my question, should I run for The Scottish Boinc Team or Anguillan Pirates?
Not sure Alez has steady internet access if any at all right now but he should pop back in soon.
#33 Re: NFS@Home support
Guys, You will need to check which team you are on. I was kicked back to TSBT, I've changed back again. Carlos , you are on TSBT, so will need to change. Paul and Scole check yours as well please. 3 days to go, maybe time to consider loading up.
I see that Gridcoin are in as are SG, LAF and UBT.
Looks like we could have our hands full on this one.

If you are looking for 14e badge please serve yourself because we would like to reach 1000 14e (lasieved) factorizations by the end of the year. The ''Now Sieving'' should be completed as well as the ones in ''Queued''. I am processing C187_121_102 which is to be completed within 9 hours. Then I have reserved P223 (284688...)+1 which I don't know if I will be able to build a matrix because last time I tried to process it it was consuming more than 14GB of memory on my laptop!!!
Overall 300k 14e (lasieved) needs to be sieved by NFS@Home and then all of them post-processed in the back stage to achieve 1000 factorizations.

Anyone here with access to lots of cores with machines connected with infiniband so msieve MPI can be used for the post processing stage of NFS@Home? No boinc credit available, only your name written on the Cunningham tables.
