Just to let you guys know that with regards to the 16e number of wus after a conversation with NFS administrator we can easily duplicate or triple the number of available work hence the Cunnigham projects has still a lot of composites to sieve. Let's see what will the challenge show.

Alez probably got his internet access revoked by the rig operator for streaming too many videos again :roll: As soon as we get confirmation I'm going to load a bunker. I'll stay with Anguillan Pirates and crunch the whole challenge there.

Jeez, have patience. I'm in India, time zones etc.
Anyhoo, challenge set up http://boincstats.com/en/stats/challenge/team/chat/799
I'll be crunching for Anguillan Pirates too. Only seem right that if I issue the challenge I try my best not to come last.

NFS forum post here

I'll post in challenge section in a mo. Got toi go check in for a helo. Can almost taste the beer :D

Carlos, feel free to abuse your admin powers and post the challenge in the project news section :D

Nice one. Depending on which teams join this could be fun. If I get home in time I may even bunker :shock: Always a struggle to keep up when scole gives himself a 5 day head start. Finally off ship, time for a beer ( it's not breakfast time here so it's not as bad as it sounds ..... honest ) Image

I'm always changing from the two teams. I thought you guys were running for formula boinc. Here's my question, should I run for The Scottish Boinc Team or Anguillan Pirates?

Mine too! What say ye Alez? My bunker drop will put TSBT close to 1st on NFS but OcUK will chase us to get it back. We're in a pretty safe 2nd though with 14mil between TSBT and the 3rd place team. I'm just as happy to crunch for Anguillan Pirates and give them a boost.

Not sure Alez has steady internet access if any at all right now but he should pop back in soon.

Guys, You will need to check which team you are on. I was kicked back to TSBT, I've changed back again. Carlos , you are on TSBT, so will need to change. Paul and Scole check yours as well please. 3 days to go, maybe time to consider loading up.
I see that Gridcoin are in as are SG, LAF and UBT.
Looks like we could have our hands full on this one.

Ok, back to the Pirates.
Gridcoin is averaging a daily 1.3M points. We will need a lot of cores to equal them.

Anyone know the phone number for the calvery ? :evil:
Guess we will just have to do what we can. We may not win but we generally put up one hell of a fight for such a small number of users. Now if NFS had droid work ........

If you are looking for 14e badge please serve yourself because we would like to reach 1000 14e (lasieved) factorizations by the end of the year. The ''Now Sieving'' should be completed as well as the ones in ''Queued''. I am processing C187_121_102 which is to be completed within 9 hours. Then I have reserved P223 (284688...)+1 which I don't know if I will be able to build a matrix because last time I tried to process it it was consuming more than 14GB of memory on my laptop!!!

Overall 300k 14e (lasieved) needs to be sieved by NFS@Home and then all of them post-processed in the back stage to achieve 1000 factorizations.

trying to find out why GCC and LHC@Home can't export sub-project stats I came across the NFS project pages and found out that the code has mentioning of
<applications>
<application>
<name>11e Lattice Sieve</name>
</application>
<application>
<name>12e Lattice Sieve</name>
</application>
<application>
<name>13e Lattice Sieve</name>
</application>
<application>
<name>14e Lattice Sieve</name>
</application>
<application>
<name>15e Lattice Sieve</name>
</application>
<application>
<name>16e Lattice Sieve</name>
</application>
<application>
<name>16e Lattice Sieve V5</name>
</application>

Will we ever see the 11th, 12th and 13th Lattice Sieve? Will they pay even worse than the 14th?

How many cores are needed?

It would be interesting to setup. Adapters, switch and cables might run $250-$350.

What mix of systems can you use? Do they all need to be the same or similar or can you connect an 8 core i7 + 24 core X5650 + 56 core + 72 core?

Core speed must be the same otherwise the fast cores will need to wait for the slower ones since the calculation is broken into pieces.

Cheers Carlos, good luck with the house move. I'm going to try and sort out three more stars on WUProp to make a bronze go silver then I'll try and help out batter down the number of 16e tasks available. Maybe next time there is going to be a large dump, give us a heads up and we could call a BOINCstats competition on it and maybe help boost the number of users.

Alez, the number of wus are almost infinitive so no rush on doing them. Greg (admin) is slowly doing the background calculations on several servers for the outstanding numbers already sieved. Anyone nearby Milton Meynes are keen to get in touch with me for a pint. Also soon I’ll be visiting Edinburgh.

I usually warn SETI.USA about fast wus on 16e V5 side. Please be aware they might pop out since currently for S2p1133 sieving composite at q=2060784049 total yield around 650. As q goes up, yield goes down, wu speed will go up, same 130 points. Stay tuned. Talking about 130 points per 5-10 mins or even less time. I can’t guarantee up to q level we are going to since I don’t have access to that part of the server. Usually at q=3G you will have that speed.
