Applications

VGTU project@Home currently has the following applications. When you participate in VGTU project@Home, tasks for one or more of these applications will be assigned to your computer. The current version of the application will be downloaded to your computer. This happens automatically; you don't have to do anything.

VGTU@Home application for dynamic visual cryptography based on non-linear oscillations

This application was developed in collaboration between Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Prof. Raimondas Čiegis, Dr. Vadimas Starikovičius) and Kaunas University of Technology (Prof. Minvydas Ragulskis, Dr. Rita Palivonaitė). Our colleagues from KTU are developing methods of chaotic dynamic visual cryptography and image hiding techniques based on moiré interference effects.

See summaries of doctoral dissertations ([1], [2]) for more information on that research.

This distributed computing application presents an attempt to employ more significant computational resources in their scientific research.

More information in the following forum topic. Check out the video example!

VGTU@Home application for dynamic visual cryptography based on non-linear oscillations
PlatformVersion
Microsoft Windows (98 or later) running on an Intel x86-compatible CPU 1.01
Microsoft Windows running on an AMD x86_64 or Intel EM64T CPU 1.01
Linux running on an AMD x86_64 or Intel EM64T CPU 1.01
Current version of application is not using replication. Application-specific validation is done for the single job results.

VGTU@Home application for grillage optimization

This application was developed in collaboration with our colleagues from the VGTU Department of Information Technologies (Ph.D. student Mikalojus Ramanauskas and Dr. Dmitrij Šešok).

They are working on of Civil Engineering problem - grillage optimization. More information on their research (including references to the already published results) you can find in the following forum topic. Check out the video example!
