#1 New Project added - FightMalaria@Home

Post by Alez »

New project added to the TSTB portfolio.
A bit low on credit ( aren't all credit new projets ?) but quick fast units similar to EON but more than double EON's pathetic attempt at credit.
Suspect this would also run well on old computers.

FightMalaria@Home is a research project that uses donated CPU time to perform docking simulations on malaria proteins. You can participate by downloading and running a free program on your computer.

FMAH is based in UCD CASL

TSTB chooses FightMalaria@Home as team project.
A bit about the project...

Malaria kills a child every 45 seconds. The disease is most prevalent in poorer countries, where it infects 216 million people and kills 650,000 each year, mostly African children under 5 years old [WHO]. And Plasmodium falciparum continues to evolve resistance to available medication. We therefore urgently need to discover new drugs to replace existing drugs. Importantly, these new drugs need to target NEW proteins in the parasite. The FightMalaria@Home project is aimed at finding these new targets.

FightMalaria@Home is based at UCD in Dublin, Ireland.

We aim to help the project reach this goal, so we would ask that people from the team support this goal by choosing to donate some of their time on this project. Obviously this is a long term commitment and we are not asking you to drop you're current projects, just add as much or as little as you wish.
The project is found here http://boinc.ucd.ie/fmah/ or attach through Bam as usual.

project home page is here http://www.fight-malaria.org/

team stats found here http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page ... h&team=254 or on bam stats etc.

Having personally had Malaria, I hope some of you will join in this endeavor.

I think that there are subtle differences between projects but it should be something like:

Go into your account
Select Administer
Then Edit Team Info
Then paste

<p align='center'> <a href='http://www.tsbt.co.uk'> <img src='http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g266/ ... C-Team.jpg' border='0'> </a> </p>

Into the box Team Name HTML Version

Simples.
