Thanks for the welcome! There were two reasons I joined this team. First is that I grew up and went to school on the Isle of Skye and though I've been living abroad for most of my adult life (currently in France; from Sept in Budapest) I still feel a pretty strong connection to Scotland. Second I was impressed by the level of activity of the team, the existence of this forum, and the level of commitment from its members that is apparent in the activity of the forum.

I am working on my own project in fintech and have been building my own servers for this purpose. Currently have two 56 thread machines, soon to have an 88 thread machine on board as well (have all components, just need to build it), and another 48 thread machine a bit further down the line (have the processors; am waiting for funds to purchase the other components). Also have two workstations (12 threads each) and a laptop (8 threads) that also contribute cpu cycles. Everything runs either Win 10 Enterprise or Win 10 Pro. One of the workstations is going to be up for sale soon however (to fund the purchase of components for the 4th server) so if anyone is interested, drop me a line. Alone it is able to generate about 75 000 points a day when not busy with other tasks.

It is amazing to me that I can contribute to life-saving scientific research by contributing spare CPU cycles via the world community grid. What a fantastic collaboration. Since I have my own little kids, the Smash Childhood Cancer project is especially close to my heart.

It is indeed a worth project. You will also find that there are other projects within BOINC that are just as worthy. Sounds like you have quite a setup available to help out these causes.
