Can you crunch boinc on an Android TV?
I think this is fool-proof but could you just try it for me please? • There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don’t

Yes, but if you want to be able to run it headless and connect to using BoincTasks you need to get one running Android 4.4 and install Native Boinc from the Play Store. If you get one running 5 or higher you have to install the Berkeley version which I don't think allows remote connection.

The S812 CPU is ok. The RK3288 is fast. We've been looking for an enterprising person to develop a boinc client version that runs on android 5.+ and allows remote connection.

EDIT: Make sure it has at least 2GB RAM. If you opt for one with Android 5.+, the CPUs available have up to 8 cores.

In various states of running and crapped out , I have about 15 systems that are android TV boxes. I really need to get the bloody things up and running again. A job for Monday after the racing I think.
