Well you certainly wouldn't want to process those

Over about 30 hours now my pendings have gone from 1024 to 710. That added 150k to my total and then since I'm not creating any new ones then everything I process give me points. Of course if you want to take it one step further you can drill down to see who the wingman is and then if they are members of B@P you make sure those stay suspended  That is actually a LOT of work to take it down that far.

Note to self: It takes about 24 hours to see an increase in output, due to the time it takes for pendings to clear, during these challenges. :?

I just had an epiphany! For challenges on projects that require a wingman, loading enough work for the entire challenge early helps increase the chance your WUs to make it to valid instead of sitting in pending! I guess others already realized that. I'm kind of thick about things like this sometimes.

You are right and wrong on seeing the increase in output. It will take a while for the pendings to wind down but you will immediately get a boost since every WU you turn in validates immediately.

Yes, on a challenge like this you really want to try and load everything you will need right at the beginning or if the deadline allows then do it before the challenge begins. That way you are crunching "aged" WU and they have a much higher probability of validating during the challenge. If you d/l WU later then they go onto the end of your wingman's cache pile and they may or may not get to them before the challenge ends.

The absolute best would be if your team did a coordinated loading of machines. This is particularly true of projects that will give bunches of WU at one request. You set a specific time where everyone will hit the project at the same time and start filling caches. That way a high percentage of your wingmen will be from your own team. Everytime a WU validates the team gets double credits.

I've never done the coordinated load thing, but during one of the Pentathlons I read on the P3DN forum that they had done it. Makes a lot of sense.

I must confess to a degree of frustration that all my GPU cards are unsupported by the project.

Thats me, let the cached WUs drain out ... , 396 still pending and the bunkers are empty, eventful challenge for sure all be it plenty hours to go, I enjoyed being the warm-up act :P

Team unity is the key to all the challenges we partake in, well lead by new 10m badge Scole250 as usual :D , he went bonkering mad at times .. we can excuse Alez this time can't we, he's aloud to sail the high seas every now and then!

A special mention to Bryan, for his extensive novel on WU giggery pokery (uncut version) - it will be a best seller Im sure 8)

I'm off to do some DNA@home on CSG unless I should start bunkering for ? :bom: :alien:

I guess they're not all Matrox cards, pre-OpenCL Ati or pre-CUDA nVidia's?

Ironically, a week before this comp kicked off, I gave away a matrox card to one of the underpaid IT techs at work.

I once tried their CUDA app, but gave up when the WUs lasted as long as CPU WUs, and gave as much credits...
