#1 Signatures: A how to...

Post by MacDitch »

I'm sure everyone knows how to add the stats to there signature but I thought it might be worth putting the links in here for the benefit of any new joiners.

In each of the following cases a space has been put into the img tag so that you can see the text required rather than a picture. :)

Image
gives my individual stats (see below left). Change '846618' to your BoincStats user ID or simply copy 'n' paste from the bottom of your 'Detailed Stats' page. Go here and click on the graph for your name to see this page.

Image
gives the team stats in two columns (as below right) which is nice and compact for those people running around half or less of the projects.

And finally,
Image
gives the 'normal' team stats

{EDIT} 08/09/2006: BOINCStats has added some new graphics for your signatures:

Good idea MacDitch.

I didn't know about the banner signature

but It'll look better with my "selected" boinc projects.

Glad to have been of assistance. Gotta do something to justify being here. :D

I've editted the original message to include the new 'summary' graphics the BOINC Stats have made avaiable. You can use the Combined graphics as shown in that message or pick out your favourite projects and display them. Enjoy.

Team IDs

Seti's Scotland - 68
The Scottish Boinc Team - 115657

With the change of team name, the ID number for the team has changed. To point your signature at the new team stats you have to change the number in your signature file from 68 to 115657.

I think I need a little help here...

I've been trying to get my sig to show the relevant stats box, but if I try to access 'my detailed stats' on BOINCStats, I get 'User CPID doesn't exist in BOINC combined stats or doesn't have any credit.'
I have no idea what this means. I am registered on BOINCstats and logged in, so I've no idea what's going on. Can anyone help?

I had the same issue a couple of days ago.
In the same window you see that message, just change the "Alternate name for signature" to whatever you want, and click "Save"

I think just updating it and saving it initialises it for use...might be talking rubbish here but thats what worked for me :)

OK, I now seem to have a new CPID. I even got the sig to work by entering my user id number - but it's not mine!
The user id is definitely correct.

Not sure what was going on but I just searched for your userid and got this page. Your ID number is 122976, so you need to type:

Code: Select all

http://www.boincstats.com/signature/user_122976.gif

PS. Have fixed your signature for you.

Thanks, Mac.
I couldn't get into the Detailed Stats page until a minute ago, and the user # on there is not the same as the user id on my main account page, hence my confusion. I'm only a bear of little brain....
Glad we got that sorted out!
