#1 Ramping down

It's been a grim day. Looks like I'm going to be added on the increasing list of the unemployed.....from my day job anyway.
So some tough choices have to be made and one of the first (and easiest) is to save on the electricity bill. As a result I'm going to ramp down the farm. I don't intend to sell up, but just to mothball for now.
Depending on what happens (it's not 100% certain yet, and there may be an escape route), I might be back and running fairly quickly, or it may take some time. Either way.....there are more important things in life to take care of just now.
Don't worry, I'll still be around, just not contributing as much as before. Feel free to drop by my website and say hello (link from the weather site in the signature).

Sorry to hear that and I hope one of your options works out for you quickly.
Best of luck, whatever happens.

Sorry to hear about your problems. I hope the escape comes good for you. If there is anything you think either the team or individual members might do to help the situation then feel free to PM or post as you feel fit.

As said already mate if there is anything we can do to help let us know. Hope you get it sorted out soon. Can't have Mega's ego going unchallanged again!

Thanks for all the good wishes guys!
Things are still up in the air and unfortunately will remain that way for the statutory 30 days. There is a remote possibility of avoiding the chop, but I'm not hopeful - even if it is possible, I might end up half way round the world.
In the meantime, I can thoroughly recommend a small South Lanarkshire start-up PC support company......
Tinto PC's provides services that many here may find useful: be sure to drop by as more features come on stream.

Sorry to hear about your troubles.
The same "30 day - Collective Consultation" process is currently underway in our organisation too. I don't know what the outcome will be ...
Hopefully you'll escape at the last minute...
Failing that, stay positive:
as one door closes...etc.

Hi Guys!
Sorry I've not been around much....(well not at all!) over the last couple of months. There have been a lot of things going on and we've been busy just trying to get our heads round it.
So, what's happening at chez Nightlord? Much the same I'm afraid. The process alluded to in my OP is part way completed, it looks like I will finish up in the late summer. T's & C's are not so bad, but it's been a big upheaval here just trying to think about what our next moves should be.
For now, the crunchers will stay off to save on the leccy bill as we re-assess a few things. The wolves won't be hammering down the door for some considerable time yet, but saving 2KW of power has got to be the right thing to do just now.
I'll try to drop by more often, even if I'm not adding to the pile of credits

Hi,
Nice to hear from you and to know that despite everything you are still surviving. I can see that you wouldn't want the farm on full blast in the circs.
Anyhoo keep in touch and return a token Rosetta (or whatever) result every few weeks just so we know you're alive.
All the best.

Good to hear from you.
Hopefully a new beginning for you will appear over the horizon in the near future.
