1 day gone, 6 left & we are sitting 11th of 19. This qualifies as mid table mediocre respectability. Good, but it could be better. Time to turn around the Boinc oil tanker away from the Numberfields and straight towards the asteroids.

And we have 8th, anyone up for 7th?
Being slightly competitive is fun though. By no means a bragger here, but it is rewarding to know that our crunching is actually for good causes.
(And getting to the top 10)

If we can take 7th, we can take 6th. No such thing as slightly competitive.... as Yoda said, Do , or do not....

I'm running late as usual, but I think I've added this to my cruncher via BAM!
Will confirm tonight that it is actually attached and crunching...

... I should point out that air and water are both fluids. The distinction between liquids and gases is basically a minor detail which has been added to keep inveterate quibblers happy and stop them from ruining the fun! :blob6:

I think this is a very complicated way of saying that penguins are afraid of heights :bootyshake:

That's all very well.
More to the point, we are now just 23K behind Russia and 33k behind BOINC RUSSIA. These are closeable gaps guys so snap to it! :)

17k behind our Russian comrades now...
I see that 5 of our team are currently placing between 41st and 50th.
if some of you would be kind enough to slow down slightly so I can remain ahead of you that would be most appreciated

I shouldn't laugh but that's some mental picture you've created!
If we worked together as a team we could collectively allow me to finish ahead though
That's surely what team work is all about :)
if all else fails Skywalker, you might just have to fire some krill and squid in a chaff fashion to throw our penguin pal off kilter

FGS.. Do you really want to eat a small oily fish which has been .. :shudder: .. there?
Anyway all he has to do to shake you off is to relax the relevant muscle so the poor fish falls free, fair prey for anybody with a taste for anally sequestered sardines!

we'd passed the Russians a few hours ago but we've fallen 600 points behind

On a more positive note, I've broken into the top 40. I Feel like I should break into song our something but I'll spare you that fate worse than X factor

We've split the Russian teams and are pulling away from Russia. Trading places with Boinc Russia for 5th place. 1 1/2 days to go, hopefully we will come out on top

Crack on all.

We are securely into 6th place 14K ahead of Russia & 16 K ahead of BOINC RUSSIA. The big question is, can we steal 5th from SETIKAH@KOREA?
They are 33K ahead and there are just 24hrs left so its a big ask but just about possible. So lets give it our all. :) 8)

at 120 points a pop, that's a lot of crunching in 11 hours.
reality may keep us at 6th.
(plus my 4 lab machines all restarted, thank you Windows update, and were sitting at the login screen)

We ended up only 14k short of Korea so 6th from 21 it is. Still a very good effort, could have been different if we hadn't missed the start.

I have to say I was pleased with my placing, just a bit disappointed that I was catching alezevo1 then he disappeared into the distance again
