In order to facilitate an updating of the hosting of this forum I will be taking it off-line from midnight tonight Thursday 3rd October.
It should be back by Saturday at the latest.
You can still access the blog & stats via
www.tsbt.co.uk
My apologies for any inconvenience.

And we are back!
Sadly we are not upgraded!
EasySpace started the upgrade but encountered an unspecified issue. One of their second line tech staff was going to get back to me but didn't.

Well we are back at least. Rebooted Orac to do some maintenance and it's dead... going to be a long night.

Double plus ungood!
I find that the unstoppering of a bottle of whisky - as a pirate you may prefer Rum- usually results in a long night of footering with a successful conclusion the arriving at which I can not quite remember.
Slightly less often I come to with several hundred pounds worth of shorted hardware and a keyboard imprint on my face which takes 72 hrs to fade!

Over the years I have often found it easier to buy new webspace with the spec you want; move the website on to it; then delete the old webspace. This might be the easiest option than fighting with tech support for an upgrade.

1 bottle of Red and 4 hours later the sheer breathtaking bloody mindedness of Windoze 7 was overcome. As a plus I now have a working IGPU in the mix too
Janos is probably correct that it would be easier to just port the whole site over elsewhere.

Has it? Well spotted. Been a bit too busy at work and with other stuff to notice. I'll see if I can upgrade to phpBB tomorrow night

We still have quite a bit of tidy up to do but in the meantime please report ANY problems.

Nice job. Also nice to see that when I log on I'm not surrounded by bots.

So far so good. No new accounts created since the upgrade.
One thing we need to test is allowing human registrations. If someone has a spare email account and feels like doing some testing...

Tried account creation. It works!
I didn't get sent any emails though.
Go on! Can you guess who I am really!

Can't win them all! See my PM about email settings.

I didn't get a PM from you! Uh-oh!
I'll send you one and see what happens.
I've also not managed to sort out the email settings but I'm sure I will.
Just keeping the bots out while allowing real people to create accounts is so totally worth it!

The chance would be a fine thing.
I've only been within 2 miles of Italy but chose my alter ego's username based on my usual ID fused with the title of a cookbook by the delightfully adequately nourished Nigella L.
