Hey! It's started. We are 9th of 16. Not bad but we could do better. :)

problem is 3 comps at the same time and not enough bodies or cores to go around. Got what cores are running on pogs and my droids split pogs / simap. Caro on strike didn't help either.

Mmm.. Good point. I hadn't noticed the POGS challenge. :? At least we can probably agree to let SETI look after itself. :)
That done an even split btwn POGS & Simap looks like the best policy.
Hopefully my 3 odroid U3 s will arrive before the end of the challenges and help towards all round respectability. :D

Maybe they will be delivered here by mistake :D Once the complete meltdown of Caro's scheduler sorts itself out I will point that at simap. Doing some seti on GPU but basically I think our usual suspects will do the team proud as ever.

OMG - Why?!? Leave the dedicated ET hunters to it! Respect and good luck to them, but I've done my bit over 16 years for SETI and it no longer pays enough to justify my major involvement. :(

no the pay is awful, and the truly dedicated on their forum are like evangelical preachers in their mono-views. That said, each to their own. Personally want to hit 1 million on seti and don't like being down at #50 in the team and every little helps now and then to maintain the feel good of not having seti at #98 or #99 and looking over our shoulder all the time. Still can't fathom how they pay cpu credit for top line gpu's though. :?
My Q6600 ( chronos ) is now on simap as caro will take a while to sort itself out.
Skywalker cracking on in pogs. Think I will be deposed before the end of the comp.

I'm trying to split my efforts between this and pogs. So I'll be chipping in a few units to help the cause!

Right we are up to 8th - top half of the field, nice!
Even nicer we are creeping up on UBT who are 7th and not that far ahead.
POGS is doing okay so I might favour SIMAP!

normally I would favor Pogs, but 3 days to go and UBT are there for the taking :D

We should probably, at this point, all paint half of our faces blue and charge forward, heroically but recklessly, shouting "Freedom!", in our best Aussie accents! :D
Assuming of course that we have given due cognisance to the implications of abandoning the pound and the uncertainties regarding future EU membership!

Far more likely I will be charging across the border, before it's closed, waving the other halves birth certificate, shouting " asylum " :D

Doh! KWSN?

No, we are 6K clear of UBT. This is nice, but not quite enough to be sure. We are also gaining on Science Little Helpers [sic] although overtaking them in the next 2 days8hrs is a big ask. Still, no harm in trying!
