About Beal@Home
Beal's conjecture is a conjecture in number theory

Image

where A, B, C, x, y, and z are positive integers with x, y, z > 2, then A, B, and C have a common prime factor.

Billionaire banker Andrew Beal formulated this conjecture in 1993 while investigating generalizations of Fermat's last theorem. It has been claimed that the same conjecture was independently formulated by Robert Tijdeman and Don Zagier, and it has also been referred to as the Tijdeman-Zagier conjecture.

For a proof or counterexample published in a refereed journal, Beal initially offered a prize of US $5,000 in 1997, raising it to $50,000 over ten years, but has since raised it to US $1,000,000.

Seems to work fine so far.
Units seem to run for 4 1/2 - 7 hours and pay a fixed 250 credits.
As far as I can tell they do not checkpoint yet.

Messageboard seem to be having spam attacks as do quite a few other Boinc projects at the moment.

Three of us on this and already we are 11th in the world. Admittedly, out of only 42 active teams but still, it is respectable! :)
There are only 114 active participants so it is a chance for us to get well ahead. The credits are okay and so far all my WUs have completed without error. A few more TSBT participants would be an excellent thing.

If I've managed to tap the right bits of the screen on my phone I should have joined.
I'll check tonight when I get home.

I'm getting a lot of failed downloads on several machines. Is that common? Any suggestions about what could be causing it and how to prevent it from failing?

Just checked and I've had a stack of units failed to download too - 3 successful to 2 failed roughly.
Going by the forum it seem to be a problem that appears, gets fixed and then comes back again.

I had been pushing this project recently but it seems our team and country are in good standing in the ranks so I'll see if efforts on other projects can make a difference. I'll still leave some resources towards it.
