Like the world cup, off and running. TSBT 4th from 5 with me and Paul slugging it out with 13 Poles. Not really a fair fight but we are holding our own :D

The Boinc scheduler is a crazy beast. Whatever I tried I could only get a trickle of work for Simap, tried it here on Primaboinca and so far it has said ' yes please, give me more' As far as I am concerned , boinc working on recently done work to determine it's scheduler request and ignoring my wishes is completely against the whole concept of Volunteer donated computer power.
Seems the only way to truly control what you want to run is to have no new work set for all projects except the one you want to run and as soon as you change your mind you have to disable previous project, enable new project and abort all old work. Not very fair on the projects involved and not something I can accomplish remotely.
I think the hierarchy that programs scheduler requests and credit new into Boinc need to re-visit a dictionary and become reacquainted with the definition of volunteer. Rant over :D

Up to 15 Poles now
We're still pretty close though :D

Can't help with the scheduler, in fact I don't think anyone or anything can help with it! It is indeed a law unto itself.
The way I try and work is one project at a time for comps and try and finish up the old project units before moving across to the new ones.
When I'm 'just crunching' I pick what projects to run and leave it to do whatever it wants, still find it hard to believe that if you pick three projects and you've got three cores it wont run a project on each core instead of the random run of one project after another.

I do agree with you Alez, you'd think they'd make it easy for the people trying to help out!

We were briefly ahead of them this morning but now there are 17 of them. As bad as the amphibians for popping out of the woodwork.

We're gaining on L'Alliance Francophone but it would sure help if another TSBT member joined the challenge :bounce:

I don't trust them. They always seem to get more team members to join late when needed. We need a strategy. Like someone bunkering Primaboinca and dumping a couple hours before the end...Megacruncher

Credit is not bad for a CPU project, .025 to .03+ per CPU sec. Just sayin'.

Indeed, neither the poles or the frogs could stay with us. TSBT 2nd from 7 but realistically 2nd is a victory as nobody could stay with Keep The Fire Alive!

Individual Pirate positions

Paul of TSBT 8th Image

Congratulations to us
