Anyone going to hit this challenge? I've not crunched this project yet. Need to get systems set up if so.

#3 Re: 20/10-27/10 Gerasim@Home october challenge
I'll have a pop at it, though I am a day late and a dollar short
Skywalker crunching it in 29th place, TSBT 11th from 11
I have ran it before, can't remember a thing about it though .... sux it and see time

Jeez! I have a couple systems where most, if not all, WUs go invalid. Their message board says to reset the project. If that doesn't help, reboot. If that doesn't work, re-install OS (not really). Whaaaat? Is this project that flaky?

From the little I remember, yes. Plus lot's of pendings if you get it to work and long run times for crap points. Not sure if we should even keep going, but we will see what the next day brings.

In 6 years and 1 month I've yet to successfully crunch any WU for this rather obscure project. But I'll try again to break my duck! Even though I've established that at least one current machine just doesn't like it.

At last, some credit.
I was going to give up but this is enough reason to keep going.
Plus we are up to 8th of 12 which just about counts as mid table respectability. :)
Can't say I'll stick with it after the challenge is over though.

Along with helping out a smaller project, challenges like this are always good for some wuprop app advancement. :)

Sand bagging on us, eh? That's always a nice surprise in a team challenge. Brought us up the ranks nicely

If we had few more crunchers, I bet we could chase down SETI.Germany.

No, on holiday with my kid so can only connect my laptop in the bar at night. Not sure how many other systems have picked up Gerasim, whim of the schedulerscole250 wrote:Sand bagging on us, eh? That's always a nice surprise in a team challenge. Brought us up the ranks nicely

You could always go to the bar during the day as well.
You are, after all on holiday, so it's not even as if you needed an excuse!
