#1 Micro SD card write protection help

Post by scole of TSBT »

Bought a new 32GB micro SD card yesterday and after maybe 2 cycles of laying down an OS image it's now write protected. It's not the switch on the side, tried in a different SD card R/W and computer. Tried to clear using diskpart. Nothing has worked. Any ideas how to fix it?

Send it back for a refund.

The way it was explained to me is that the card does that, if something is wrong, in order to protect the contents. I don't know how to clear it, sorry
I think this is fool-proof but could you just try it for me please? • There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don’t

You could try option 2

https://www.wikihow.com/Remove-Write-Pr ... an-SD-Card

if option 2 fails you can then try and format it.

Have you a different adapter to try it in?

@Alez and @davidBAM Tried all of those. I even changed the blinker fluid. Still didn't work.

Do you have a camera? Try to load the card there. The camera might be able to re-format the card to a useable form.
I have several of these, GParted doesn't help, nor the famous Linux CLI commands.
