If you think 32 cores/64 threads (Whether Xeon or EPYC) is awesome, look at the IBM Power series. A 12-core IBM Power8 will do 96 threads....

And IBM is selling Power8 servers like the E870 that can be configured with up to 80 POWER8 cores (=640 threads!) and 8 TB of RAM.....
I guess it won't come cheap though....and is there a boinc client for the latest version of AIX? Would there be an Ubuntu variant for IBM Power architecture? Yes!
