OK, I'll start this thread here, as it's not strictly to do with our team goals.

I think Rosetta is unique amongst projects in allowing you to set your own wu length. The options are 1hour, 2 hours, 3 hours(default), 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 hours, or 1 day.

I have been running the default (3 hours) with an average credit of 15.8 credits/hour (over last few days)

I have just set the wu length to 1 hour, and will see how they compare credit wise, to see if we can up our output :)

Ok, I was going to run each time for about 20 units before checking them, but I changed my mind after 10 at 1 hour.

At 1 hour runtime I am getting an average of 13.8 cr/h

Well lower than the default 3 hours.

So Far...

1 Hour..... 13.8 cr/h
3 Hour..... 15.8 cr/h

next up 6 hour runtime

After 9 results at 6 hours each, I am getting an average of 15.0

I think I'll go back to 3 hours, as its giving the best results.

1 Hour 13.8
3 Hour 15.8
6 Hour 15.0

Plus of course, with the shorter units you'll never risk losing more than 3 hours work if you get one of the dreaded computational errors.

Just finished a Rosetta W/U that I ran for 24 hrs. Got 403 credit or 16.79/hr. A little better than the lower levels but is it worth the risk? :?:

I don't think the risk is that high - Rosetta is pretty stable just now - but still, a bird in the hand is better than putting all your eggs in one basket. :?
