Thank you. I joined Boinc at the end of 2007 due to a mention of it on a tech website. I'd long known of Seti@Home but didn't know how it had branched out to other areas, and that impressed me. I initially signed up for Seti (to find the other life in the universe that's got to be out there), World Community Grid (to help us living here on Earth), Tanpaku (ditto, plus it's "Yamato Lab," and I love all things [Uchuu Senkan] Yamato), and Rosetta.
With the end of this first quarter approaching, I re-evaluated things and decided to drop Rosetta: fine work, but plenty of support already exists, and I'm already involved in proteins via Tanpaku and World Community. In its place, I put Milkyway, Cosmology, and LHC (I do love the astrosciences/physics), each at 200% resource share to catch up.
At the same time, I decided that I should join a team. After considering other possibilities, I decided to go Scottish. My mother was half Scot (hence the MacCallum tartan avatar), and I always liked Scotty from Star Trek. So here I am, adding my (meager) computer resources to yours - Alba Go Bragh!
