#1 You know what makes me proud?

Post by CycloneRanger »

After quite a bit of effort, I have made it into the top 1% of BOINCers in the U.S.

Plus, I'm in the top 1% of BOINCers in the world.

But that's not what makes me proud.

Try as I might, I have barely cracked the top 5% of TSBT BOINCers, with not much sign of rising further, percentage-wise.

And, oddly enough, that is what makes me proud. I'm proud to belong to a team that sets the bar so high that I don't have a realistic chance of clearing it, at least any time soon.

(But it won't be for lack of trying; I'll be bringing a new home-built screamer on line soon, to replace some of my older, sadder contributors. So watch out, top 5%, I'm coming your way!)

Good Job Sir!

I agree wholeheartedly with your comments.

I recon it’s all a matter of perspective – From where I’m standing you are waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy in the distance… And it looks like you’re catching JavaJoe (your countryman) and McMint. Going by the boinc stats calculator, you’ll be part of the “elite” millionaires club in about 50 days – that’s a great achievement.

The standard in this team is really high and I’ve got some work to do before I reach either UK or World top 1% - but hopefully I will get there. As for breaking into the TSBT 5% crew; unless I miraculously inherit a Data Centre from some kind benefactor, that feat will remain a dream!

The biggest thing to realise though is that every single credit contibuted towards the team total counts.
It doesn't matter if you do 5000 a day or 50 it all counts.
great achievement to make top 1% in the USA and the world. 8) 8)

Hey Cyclone, congrats on your achievements. From where I look at it, it's everyone who completes a task for the team that deserves well done. I may lift a little more than most, but every lift counts. It's the accomplishments as a team that I enjoy.

ARE WE HAVING FUN YET? Yes, indeed. :D :D

My congratulations also. It's a fine effort that you've put in to acheive these ratings, especially that team 5%. :) I think I'll just have to relegate such dizzying heights to my dreams.

For information:
A top 5% rating in the team currently requires a RAC of 2150/day.
A top 3% rating currently requires a 3800 per day average.
A top 1% requires >15,000 per day!
and the pinacle
The top 1/4% rating (and team No.1) requires you to beat Buster Gunn's 45k per day.

Is it just me or was the team RAC about 45k per day not that many months ago....

Yes, I can remember when we were struggling to reach 30K per day, and panicking that Scotland were in the mid 30s and would eventually overtake us. Changed days indeed & something to be proud of. :D
