Application for grillage optimization
his application was developed in collaboration with our colleagues from the VGTU Department of Information Technologies (Ph.D. student Mikalojus Ramanauskas and his supervisor Dr. Dmitrij Šešok).
Together with other colleagues, they are working on Civil Engineering problem - grillage optimization. They are studying the performance of various global optimization algorithms in the solution of this problem. See the references below for the definition of the problem and this video illustration.
This distributed computing application presents an attempt to employ more significant computational resources in their scientific research and study the performance of parallel/distributed global optimization algorithms.
