End of tax year recently meant my mind and efforts have been elsewhere for a wee while, so I only just noticed.

Next target 1 Mil on FreeHal, then 2nd spot from JockMacMad.

You were saying Willie

Just moving into new house. 1st machine partially online. i.e. 2 of 3 ATIs.

Hopefully more very soon.....

(by the way I hadn't managed to get online for a while until today, what a coincidence I may be able to delay that 2nd place a wee while more until additional machines are skye-ward.

Actually chaps, talking of number two challenges, if you'll excuse a phrase so evocative of faeces & testosterone, have you spotted that I'm also well past 80 million and am gaining on both of you with a mere 4.9 million separating the three of us and that narrowing daily?

JockMacMad, Nightlord, Megacruncher, who is [second] best [to Merlyn] ?

There's only one way to find out - Fight!!!

Funny you should mention that but it is being considered as I'm boarderline single phase for the Ground Source Heat Pump which may need to go three phase.

2 machines on !

Tried a third with 2 GTX-295s. Pointless literally. What should I be running on this or should I just sell the cards and get another ATI? I think if I pulled them and put my spare 4850 in it would turn in better results.

Why is it when you go away for a few days on work within 5 hours one machine is not returning results.

Maybe a competition to see how long the other one survives.

What sort of results were you getting?
My dual GTX260 can manage 50-60K in a good day on Collatz. It's not so keen on DNECT or Milkyway.

Now 50-60K might seem trivial by the figures you are obviously getting but to little old me it's handy enough.

About 60-70k for 2x 295 so 4x 260. About half what you are getting. I'll check that though.

Also it seems that 2:18 to 2:19 am is part of the witching hour.

My 1st machine stopped responding on 9 Jun 2010 2:28:12 UTC and the second nearly 24 hours later to the minute at 10 Jun 2010 2:19:30 UTC.

I wonder if thats a special time each day that Microsoft helps its customers.

EDIT: 38-57k a day inc CPU work on Collatz.

That surely isn't the total output from two GTX295's, is it ?

My output is similar to Willies at approx 50-60k from my two GTX 260's running Collatz, maybe just slightly less on GPUGrid. While keeping the i7 920 busy on WCG or whatever (Rosetta at the moment).

yes that was what I was getting on Ubuntu 64bit. Far short of yours ....

Oh and ....

Image

2 machines running and 16 off lol

My AMD moterboards will not run 2 x 4850x2 :( Seems the onboard crap ATI chip even though off in the bios borks the second card (most likely the 4th GPU clashes). So have to run a max of one x2 and a single card - i.e. 3 GPU so the bloody things boot.

I am thinking the one spare 4850 not in a machine will return more than the 2x 295's.

Mind its still nearly too hot to sit in this room without the AC on. But turning it on is equivalent to powering another 4 machines on when sating the appetite of the electric key god.

Wonder how big a turbine I would need to drive this lot and how far away the closest Fire Station is lol

Right well I think you have second wrapped up and with the gap between us stretching to 11.6 million I'm not going to kid myself.

OTOH the 584K which separate me from an apparanty sleeping Nightlord and 3rd place seems straight-forward enough! Unless he wakes up like you did!

Apart I now have one machine that simply will not run BOINC any more ...

Uninstall, reboot, reinstall and NADA.

Oh the joys of crunching.

It's funny that. My i7 has decided that it'll do whatever I ask it so long as it hasn't to do boinc. Before that one of the Quads just wouldn't play until I reinstalled everything from the boot disk up.

I think I might install Windows 7 on the i7 as all the reviews suggest it is better behaved than vista.

Despite that I have o'erleapt the stationary Nightlord to reclaim TSBT third place. :wav: Second is probably out of reach (by 11.2 million last time I checked  ) now that you have got moving again.

Except that you're not moving and second is now somewhat closer [9.9 million - hardly imminent but...] Where are you & Nightlord?
