I have been crunching for a few years, but I just recently decided to join the forum.
I live in the desert of Southern California, so my numbers are close to zero in the summer, but in the winter my computers keep me warm at night when the temperatures drop below freezing! Last week we hit our first frost of the season, so I have set my computers to 90% CPU usage and they are running free. Normally they are set to 10% in the summer and 50% in the fall and spring.
Since there is no working heater in my office at work, I use the servers there to help boost the heat in the winter.
I am Skeyerish, half Scottish, half Irish, with a long history. My branch of the Wallace family was kicked out of England and Scotland in the 1700's, and I hope to someday return to the country of my family origin.

Speak for your self. Here in frosty edinburgh it's a life threatening -6C outside and a seriously hot 28C in the Boinc basement.aardvark wrote: Yes, if you're into crunching you would love it here. Ambient Temp's are so good we can crunch 24/7/365 without worrying about overheating

#4 Cold!
Well I love the cold! Your weather has been in the news recently with record cold and storms, sounds like the perfect BOINC weather. (Besides the power outages of course, as they tend to hurt crunching)
The coldest that I have been in is -40C or F take your pick + wind chill. Frosty nostrils, imagine the crunching possibilities! You never need a heater, just add more computers!
ARRGGHH! (I sailed two seasons on the replica Brig Pilgrim in Dana Point, California. So I think that loosely qualifies me as a real pirate!
