Nice to see someone planning ahead.
Although it means I need to remember when it comes round

I think you might be mixing me up with someone who's organised DirkDirk Broer wrote:Set it as an event in Facebook and/or Outlook...Silver wrote:Nice to see someone planning ahead.

Could not get POGS WUs to download to most of my androids because of storage issue. Had to uninstall and reinstall NativeBoinc on most of them. PITA

I just switched my droids over. Hope I don't have the same issue as not spending the night in the tech shed. Not focusing on this anyway, systems are over onto Universe ....

Nice one lee, glad to have you aboard for this one as we don't seem to be setting the heather alight on this one, yet

Get that GTX 770 over onto the Primegrid challenge on pps sieve Lee. Think we will need all the horsepower we can muster .

Wellllllll, you can tell that our priorities are elsewhere at the moment.
We're just outside the top 10 but a mere 90k short of 10th spot, I'm going to have a word with my droids when I get home and see what they're playing at!

I think my droids are still bogged down with CSG units and then in typical Boinc scheduler distain for anything I may want, they are now hitting enigma
Is it that difficult a concept to understand that it is my computer, my power etc. so the scheduler should do what I want not what some non functional algorithim thinks it should do.

Joined PrimeGrid this morning. Should I leave the resources as 50/50 (split with POGS)?Alez wrote:Get that GTX 770 over onto the Primegrid challenge on pps sieve Lee. Think we will need all the horsepower we can muster .

No, run only the pps sieve app on the nvidia GPU. Put your cores on POGS. There is no advantage on doing CPU units for Primegrid for a challenge as all you want to do is generate as much points as quickly as possible. Leave a core free for the GPU and watch it fly.leecarver wrote:Joined PrimeGrid this morning. Ok - I think I have everything set up properly. For PrimeGrid preferences, I've told it no CPU but use NVIDIA GPU, and it is only running on the PPS-SIEVE project. For POGS, I set the CPU usage limits to 75% of the CPUs.Alez wrote: No, run only the pps sieve app on the nvidia GPU. Put your cores on POGS. Are there any tweaks I should be making to memory and what not? Has anyone established any sort of guide on what the local and project preferences should be in general for optimal use? I pretty much shut down BOINC when I want to use my system for anything other than web surfing. But when I'm away, it should be able to use whatever resources it wants.
And you're right about it flying. Just finished a WU in 7:42 (using .0731 CPUs + 1 NVIDIA GPU).

Watch how quickly your points go up
We did have some optimisations etc. but most are obsolete or buried away in previous challenge posts. I've started putting together new optimisations as we go again and this time they are all in the same place :) look here

That's quite a nice little list of tsbt crunchers, keep up the good work everyone.
If we could scrape into the top 10 that would be a result!
