Alrightly...fresh meat! Hasn't been a Yoyo team challenge for over 1.5 years! Let's not disappoint ElricM and his friends. Challenge starts in 13 hours. Let's make a showing.

Tips here...http://www.dunadd.co.uk/seti/forum/view ... 172&t=2806

BTW, they have great badges. Not a better chance to earn some....

I'm going to stick with Universe in the main for FB but I will try and shove some systems over here. Can't have you all on your own :? That said, once started, things do tend to spiral out of control ....
Can we expect a devistating bunker bomb or is this a straight up crunch what you got start ? and where's Mr Carver lurking with evil intent  or that utopia-i ...... 8)

I've still got one 24 core system on Universe until I get that Venus badge. Of course, if Meisterkuehler.de Team decides to keep coming at us, I can turn quickly. Got that...give it up lads. You must have other priorities.

Amost a day and half in and TSBT is still 4th. Not too shabby considering the company.

Individual positions...
scole of TSBT 2nd
alez [ TSBT's Pirate ] 12th
Paul of TSBT 22nd
Skywalker TSBT 35th
utopia-i 45th
Philippe 79th
Snowdog of TSBT 88th

Keep it up!

I'm trying for a silver star on Muon and a gold star on ECM. Any other badge hound goals?

This is my thoughts I just posted over at the challenge chat...
I'm starting to think some PrimeGrid 17 or Bust WUs got mixed in the ECM WUs :P

At least you still get the WUProp hours.

This challenge is indeed a challenge! - Thankfully the WU quorum is 1, but the WUs are not the shortest, 7 -10hours plus - long deadline and ideal for bunkering but was away on a jolly to sunny Aberdeen of all places ... anyhow I'm in sneaking in under the radar ...

... perhaps Scole250 can explain his megga 21K jump over Sphynx[BlackOps] to go back into 2nd
.... some giggery pokery afoot here I suspect :bom:

The good old days revisited
--------------------------------
I can remember, just, walking into the HQ of evolution@home (before it moved to yoyo land ) and the scientist/developer was gob snacked that I new all about and contributed to his project. In those days badges weren't as prized as they are now .. :?: other wise I could have gotten a few points added after upgrading one of his Macs ...

Nah. A couple of my systems just happen to be getting similar, long running WUs which finish close to the same time. My credit tanks for a while, then spikes when they all complete in a short window.

I'm still voting for the ".... some giggery pokery afoot..." If I hadn't been tied up on WCG, this would have definitely been the challenge to bunker. You guys were all tied up on Universe, so you had the same problem. Nice job on Universe BTW!

All need are 6 more Universe WUs to clear pending to get the lovely Venus badge, but that's taking even longer than these ECM WUs to complete!

Does anyone have any experience of running ECM WUs, ecm (App0.01) on a Mac (i3 3.2GHz)

The 4 Wus are showing 60% and Elapsed time is 25 hours, 16 hours remaining

I'm pretty sure these WUs take approx 10 hours on a PC (App 0.05) .. ok I realise it a bit of comparing apples and oranges but .... 31hours for completion ?

I'll not be racing up the leader board then

I was running 36 WU on Linux. At the 12.5 hour mark they were only at 44% so I pulled the plug. I think Steve is right that Windows is the way to go on ECM. After wasting 12 hours I didn't bother to kick over to Windows.

Bryan, that is interesting, I wish I'd asked 12 hours ago

I've only 4 WUs, now at elapsed time 30 hours and 80%, just gotta let them finish, if its a computational error then I'll move onto WCG FAH2 ...

Don't know why it's tanked so bad. Yesterday evening I did start Milkyway which is using 6 cores on various systems, but it started going south before that. I also had to suspend yoyo on a couple systems to keep milkyway work on them.

Those are long. It's been a while since I've run ecm...may be a while longer before I try to run that to 1 million. I've been pretty consistently on Cruncher ogr throughout the challenge, though I flipped over to Evolution and I've even got a couple Harmonious Trees running. Good luck at the finish!

That's me uploaded, not enough to overtake SETI.Germany for team 4th but individually almost caught a certain Alez in 12th!, however the key word is almost ..

WELL done to all, its a brutal challenge for sure with long WUs, will take a good few days more to finish off WUs, holding out for an EVO silver badge, then onto or return to .... ?

A C- for execution is very generous, excuses are ... forgot about the challenge, started almost a day late and finished, thanks to the extra long WU times, 4 hours early ... I can only do better ! -

The only positives was to lull Alez into a false scene of security which seems to be working well and a new evo silver badge .. :bounce:

( off topic ... what is the main project for the team, apart from challenges and person badge goals ?, are we still Formula challenging ?)
