Is anybody else getting a load of friendship requests from a user named Misfit?
he seems to be going through every project at the mo.

- he has a myspace page with interesting groups! - not that I've looked in detail you understand!

Me too! I haven't replied either.

There is of course a well known cruncher by the tag of Misfit, but from what I have seen of the his M.O., I would be very surprised if it were him.

From what I can see, friendship status in the projects gives you no more access to any personally identifiable information, so it's difficult to see what this person is getting out of it.....other than possibly to tarnish the name of the well-known Misfit

At the risk of sounding more than a little autistic, what is a friend in this particular context? Am I obliged to send them Xmas cards or let them crash on the floor when their wife throws them out, or all the usual stuff. What, in short, is the point?

I believe it is the 'well known' misfit - and that he is using this as a way to see if people are open to being contacted as he's been screamed out a few times for PM'ing people about joining his team. The act itself doesn't seem a big deal until you realise he did it across allprojects - 30 or so PM's at the time.

I get requests from him on Seti Beta every so often and yes, I did receive a couple from other projects a few days ago.
