I've had yet another PSU failure. Or at least the PSU works but the PSU fan is making a racket suggestive of a leprachaun with a minature pneumatic drill trying to get out of the case. I can hear the noise from downstairs in the kitchen and I'm worried that not only will it wake my kids but also the neighbours kids.
I've stripped down the PSU and checked for anything snagging in the fan and Dysoned out all the stoor - but still it continues. I think a bearing must have gone.

I'll buy a new PSU tomorow [and a replacement fan so that I can keep this as a spare] but in the meantime domestic noise abatement demands that it gets shut down. :(

Not really. I've not played with the electronics, just removed the dust and looked for loose components/foreign bodies.

I'll wait a day or so before I perform surgery on it and even then it'll just be a fan transplant. 12 volts never killed anyone. Yet. :?
