It doesn't seem to have any work available!
A message posted yesterday on the project website said:
EDIT: Its been rescheduled by a week I'll change the thread accordingly.
But yes I'll give it a go.

A message posted yesterday on the project website said:
A poorly timed challenge I think. We are currently importing new releases of the Uniprot and RefSeq databases. We expect about a million new proteins for SIMAP. The workunits of these sequences will be available from Sat, Jun 7. We expect about a month of continuous work for SIMAP.
EDIT: Its been rescheduled by a week I'll change the thread accordingly.
But yes I'll give it a go.

Anyone else coming to play?

As soon as the remaining enigma tasks finish I'll have work coming off.

From the SIMAP news pages
SIMAP is currently moving towards new algorithms for similarity calculations and scoring. After extensive tests and evaluations during the last months it turned out that the best way to continue SIMAP will be to use dedicated local hardware in our institute. SIMAP will therefore use BOINC only to maintain the current SIMAP database until the end of 2014. BOINC clients for the new SIMAP database will not be released and there will be no workunits for SIMAP after 2014. After 10 very successful years of SIMAP within BOINC this decision was not an easy one for us. However, we thank all users for their support in the past and in the upcoming last period until the end of the year.

I'm on it! My remaining enigma tasks have a long shelf-life and we seem to be destined to finish 5th for that challenge, come what may. So its all cores on Simap. Androids too. :)Janos wrote:Anyone else coming to play?

We are currently 8th of 16 with 7th pretty imminent. :) Sixth or even 5th place are just about realistic aspirations.
Hopefully a few of you will be moving from Enigma (which has fairly long life WUs so you don't have to finish them first).

I have tried but I seem to be getting everything except Simap and as I am not at home just now, not sure why. Will try and force the issue tonight, but in my experience, making massive changes over Bamstats usually results in my systems sulking with me. We will see

Do you use any remote desktop control apps? I use Chrome Remote Desktop to control my PCs.

#15 Re: 8/6 - SIMAP June 2014 Scramble
I use a combination of Bamstats and my boy
I have a combo of win xp, win 7, linux ( various ) and android so very few non commercial solutions would work for me. I also have to consider the various countries I remote in from and the security risks..
I set my systems to connect to Bamstats every hour and can change projects, project weighting, etc. etc. through that. Reboots etc are normally accomplished through the boy.
Hopefully a few starting to pick up tasks now.

We are 7th of 16 teams.
With no realistic opportunities or threats to deal with. And 7th sounds good enough to be going on with!
