A good friend of mine, Bowmore, said that he plans on attending the party :occasion7:

He also said that the project has a 10 day deadline and will give 10 WU per thread with a 640 WU/machine max. So those who have 64 thread machines and set their BOINC preferences to .5 / 10 days will get a full load

Since this is Boinc@Poland's party be sure to bring a present to give to them at the start ... the bigger the better :D

Thanks for the heads up. A few of us have crunched DENIS a little. This is a good chance to give it a workout.
And say hey to Bowmore! The party is always better when he shows up :occasion5:

IP address range is 193.146.66.0 - 193.146.66.255

...in case anyone wants to load a bunker, then use a firewall to block access to the server until the start of the challenge. Ya know, just sayin'

I just started bunker #1 a few minutes ago. I'm chewing on 5760 WU (175k) and in 2 days I can switch to Windows BOINC and start chewing on 5760 more

It appears there is some serious bunkering going on. I've been running the project for 3 days and over the last 18 hours my pendings, which had stabilize below 400, are now at 1200.

I've got 4000 in the queue. I hope others on TSBT consider the opportunity to bunker and make a splash...uh-hem... :pirate:

It's also an excellent way to focus on a project and build some WUProp hours on it. I'm hoping that by the end of the challenge, I've earned my first cyan star on my WUProp badge.

I'll be heading back offshore so no bunkering here.
Actually surprised you guys have been able to stash such an amount as I thought this project generated new units off the results of returned units. Hope you two don't strip the server bare

When I 1st started the bunker there were 18k WU in progress and now there are 39k so there are others bunkering as well. Only 11,000 of those are mine

My 24 thread machines will be out of work in about 3 more hours so I'll have to switch to Linux VMs to get another load for them. The 12 thread machines have over a day left on bunker #2. I had problems attaching to the project and getting work yesterday morning so I had to run them open for 12 hours while I waited to get a full load so I could shut the lid.

I currently have 8000 ready to drop.

As soon as I win the lottery I will build a server with at least four 16-core Opterons in it.
Heck, when I win the lottery I can build Intel systems as well!
Are there any mobos taking two of those 18-core -36 thread- Xeons? Are there mobos that can take four of those?

Present-day economics however confine me to solutions like this:
Image
Three iTX mobo's in one casing (with three J2900 or N3700 'Pentium' Atoms or three Athlon 5350 mobos a nice alternative!)...

Ah! An uber cruncher wish list discussion. I can find a LGA 2011 V3 duel socket mobo, which has an EATX form factor (may not fit in standard ATX case). http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2cGDyc

The mobo is an ASUS Z10PE-D16 WS which actually supports 3 way SLI...https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z10PED16_WS/overview/

I'm sure there are boards to support more, but they are going to be rack mount server boards.

BTW, DENIS has stopped allowing new hosts for the time being apparently. At can't add it to a new client anyway.

@Dirk -- screw the Opterons, This is what you want.

http://www.memory4less.com/m4l_itemdeta ... ArtX8P8HAQ

BTW, 8 of them will work together and somewhere on the web is a benchmark where they actually ran 8 in one machine. Can you imagine having a machine with 240 3.2GHz AVX threads? One of them will actually drop into my I7 3930 ASUS MB so I guess I could upgrade

I added 4 this afternoon (VMs) and got 640 WU loaded and crunching now on each machine. I had trouble attaching yesterday morning but after several hours I was able to get attached and loaded so maybe if you try it later things will work out.

9100 finished and 4467 in the oven :D

It would be a little more challenging that way

It looks like B@P is taking this one fairly seriously. They did 186k yesterday. If they are also bunkering then they will be difficult to catch. I guess when they issue a challenge then everyone comes out to play (38 members w/ credits yesterday).

I know where 1/3 of them are:

In progress (19175) · Validation pending (826)

The 24 thread machines will run out of work tonight so I will add 1 more VM to each and grab 1920 more WU so when the challenge starts I will have over 20k WU ready to drop. I could do the same with the other machines and add 3800 more WU but I really don't want to do that many Linux installs.

I'm looking forward to hour one of the challenge, see what Bryan can offload in just 60 minutes... :o

And what would Scole be up to? I've got him in the sign-up stats -at this moment that is- and Maxwell [MM] too -I am at 50,960.64-, but when those two have been bunkering...

Actually I'm planning on doing something I've never done before ... I'm going to do drops every couple of days. If I totally unload up front then everyone has a target to shoot at. If I stagger the dumps then it'll keep them guessing

I will have the last of the bunkered WU completed about 6 hours before the start. It looks like this:

In progress (22396) · Validation pending (668)

That'll give us approx. 670k ready to go. B@P has 37 folks putting up credits so our small team needs all the help it can get  I will release approx. 150k at the start.

There has been no talk about SUSA joining in (so far) so I'm guessing we won't have to worry about them

L'Alliance Francophone is the major butt to kick -they are are present the only team with more than 10 million credits.

We 're still missing BOINC Synergy -no.2 with more than 9.3 million, but no.3, SETI.Germany is present -5.6 million credits, as is SETI.USA, no.4 with 3.8 million.

No.5 XtremeSystems -3.1 million- is absent but no.6 -BOINC@Poland is there as organiser, 2.7 million credits and all set to crush XtremeSystems.

No.7 BOINC@MIXI is still absent with their 1.7 million credits but both nos. 8 and 9 will gladly change position with them -AMD Users at 1.6 million and BOINCstats at 1.5 million.

TSBT is at present no.33 with 307,468 credits but in a little over 4 hours the fun begins....
Ukraine, no.10 with 1.4 million credits hasn't shown up yet either.

Hal (Sphynx) had a 8000 WU bunker at the start. I think he has only released about 1/2 of it. Crannog (cineon_lut) is one of the "big guns". Since he started from scratch his pendings are probably growing at a fast rate. Once they stabilize he will climb quickly.

Unless something changes dramatically then B@P is toast :D

Glad to help out! I, unlike Bowmore, prefer the "subtle" approach  so I dropped the bunker over 19 hours. Actually, not really true...with AT&T's help (via throttling) I managed to stretch it out that long. I'm all in now and running real time, except for the 675 pendings I have in the TSBT's bank. :D

I think I'm going to get on the challenge chat and complain about people bunkering  Scole must have been your wingman on quite a few WU. He got a really good bounce that matched your drop.

Great start guys!
I've not been paying adequate attention & anyway I'll be staying home to help get Rosetta back in the top 100.
But I must say you all seem to be kicking ass without my modest contribution.
Keep it up!

I've been uploading thoughout the day. I have to head out tomorrow for a few days and needed to get my systems free wheeling. I would still complain about the bunkering though. Every challenge needs some controversy.

Should I complain right before or right after I do my next bunker drop?

I'm in the same boat as you. We're heading out of town for a couple of days so tomorrow I have no choice but to do a drop. We will get back the evening of the 17th so I will probably do the final drop on the 18th.

That's me just heading out the door for offshore to. Just have to hope the systems behave themselves in my absence.

If you go to the project's "top teams" and click on TSBT you'll find that the credits are up to date. When they export stats the next time it should show:

TSBT is now the #10 team on the project and we have the #1 RAC . 8)
